Nini was currently in Salt Lake City to visit the famous East high school. She always loved the high school musical movies, so as soon as she finished college, she packed a bag and flew here. She would have come earlier, but her father was always against her traveling alone until recently. She thinks he was afraid of her not coming back home, but why should he? She loved Australia and could never leave.
Nini was born and raised in Sydney Australia and she would never dare to leave her home. A thing not many people know about her is that she is adopted. Apparently, her biological parents left her on her adoptive fathers' doorstep when she was just a toddler, and it was like a miracle because his wife had just died with their unborn child in her womb.
Every time she heard this story she cried, but her father always aid that she was the greatest gift on earth.
After visiting East high she decided to get some Starbucks, because why not. As soon as she stepped through the door she was welcomed by the smell of coffee. "Welcome at Starbucks what can I get you?" A curly haired guy asked her. "Uhmm, I'll go with an Iced Caramel Macchiato" the brunette replied after taking a quick look at the Menu. "Name?" he asked.
"Nini" she replied while getting the money out of her wallet, so she did not notice the guy freezing. When she looked back up, she raised her eyebrows in confusion "Is something wrong?"
It was in her nature to care for everyone around, even if it was a complete stranger. That caused the guy to shake his head "Sorry, it was nothing."
"You sure?" she asked.
He sighed "My childhood best friend had the same name, and she was kidnapped over 10 years ago. You are just the first person, who had the same name as her. Anyways enjoy your drink."
She smiled at the guy before walking over to a table and pulling out her phone. Her father had texted her a million times already and also called a few times. Nini just texted him telling him that she is ok and just getting coffee. "Ricky I' telling you she looks just like her" a voice said, which caused her to look up.
It was said by a girl around her age with black curly hair. "Gina don't be ridiculous. Nina is a really common name." How did he know her real name? She only told him her nickname, or did she? No, she was sure she said Nini, not Nina.
She was pulled out of her thoughts by the girl approaching her. "Hey, my name is Gina, and you must be Nini, am I right?" Gian said to her with a smile on her face. "Hey" she shyly replied. "So where are you from?" she asked while sitting down opposite of her. "I'm from Australia, Sydney to be more specific." "You don't sound like you're from Australia" She stated.
"Yeah, I don't know why either. I honestly don't know here I was born, because I was adopted at the age of 5, but I'm guessing it was Australia." Nini had no idea why she was telling a stranger all of that, but the girl seemed so familiar. "Oh, I'm sorry." "Don't be, it's what my life was supposed to be like. Plus, I probably have atter life than I would have had now. Anyways I could not help but overhear your conversation with the curly haired guy about me. What was all that about?" the brunette asked.
Gina's eyes widened in shock "You heard?" She giggled and nodded her head "Yeah, you two weren't exactly quiet." "I'm sorry. It is just that my childhood best friend looked a lot like you do and she went missing a long time ago. It's silly but for a moment I hoped you were the girl."
Nini smiled sadly "I'm not that girl, but I'm sure you'll find her eventually. Do not give up hope. My father always told me that since he did not want me to make the mistake he made. He gave up hope after his wife died and then he found me, so yeah faith has a weird way of showing it's presence."
