I rolled onto my stomach, reaching my arms out and hooking them through the pillow that laid under my head. I was exhausted, still trying to recover my sleep schedule after the other night. A very hectic night.
I went to my first day of school yesterday, and was filled in on the events of birds flying into the glass, and the deer that flew into Lydia's windshield. It all sounded pretty absurd. I noticed that Lexie wasn't there, her mom was keeping her at home, Lydia's words, not mine.
I tried to go see her, but her mom refused to let her see anyone at the minute, saying that she needs her rest. What a whole load of bullshit.
As I laid there, sheets covering my upper body, the morning light shining through the glass and down at a spot inches from my face, I felt a strong arm engulf me. I smiled to myself as Derek's touch left me feeling content. Right now, rather than being back in his crumbling house, or that underground lair that I personally despised, we were in a loft. One he had bought a while back.
And let me tell you, it's the best place he's ever owned. There were sliding doors that went into the main area, large windows opposite overlooking the streets below. In the corner was a spiral staircase that twisted up to the second floor. It was pretty much like a studio apartment because joint to the main area was an area where he kept his bed. The one I was sleeping in right now.
I let out a satisfied sigh and remained in that position with his arm wrapped around me, this was somewhat blissful. Then of course there was a rapping at a door and I groaned in annoyance, flitting my eyes open and shifting onto my back looking up at the ceiling.
I just wanted at least five more minutes to sleep, just the two of us. But of course, my wishes are never fulfilled. Turning my head to the side, I watched Derek sit up and turn away from me so he was sitting on the edge of the bed, leaning down to pick up a shirt. Yes, he sleeps shirtless. And I'm all for it.
My eyes traced the triskele tattoo on his back and I had the urge to press my hand against it, but I didn't, knowing that he'd probably flinch and send me an unamused look. Then, the fabric of his t-shirt pulled down and covered his back. Time to get up I guess, even though I was entitled to at least two hours more of sleep. School didn't start till 7:30, so why the hell couldn't I have a lie-in?
I sat up, my top clinging to my chest as I rested my hands back and let out a huff. Derek turned his head to look at me, an eyebrow raised. I rolled my eyes at him and rested my head against his back. "Do we have to? Can't we just go back to sleep?" I pleaded, my cheek pressing against his shoulder blades and my hands circling his midsection.
I felt his chest rising and falling beneath my hands, and then I felt his hands on mine. "Yes." he muttered before releasing them and standing up. He can be very moody sometimes. I watched the sliding door slide open slightly before a head popped through. Oh god, here we go again.
See the thing is, Isaac has been staying with Derek, mostly because he has nowhere else to go. And since I've been round here multiple times either sleeping in Derek's bed or...y'know other things or whatever, he does this thing where he knocks and waits like five minutes before peeping his head through to see if the coast was clear.
I rolled my eyes and scrunched my eyebrows together as Isaac just stood in the doorway. "You can come in, neither of us are naked," Isaac laughed nervously before fully coming in and sliding the door shut behind him.
By now, I had pushed myself off the bed and followed them into the main area, perching on the edge of the large table that sat in the centre of the room. Derek gave me a stern look, "Sabrina,"
I shrugged and a smirk tugged at my lips. "What? It was a joke, and besides it's not like he's not seen me naked before," crap, did I just say that? Derek's eyes grew wide and Isaac stood in between the both of us, clearly sensing the tension as he rubbed the back of his neck with his hand.
