The four werewolves dumped out the contents of Stiles' or the nogitsune's duffel bag and searched through each and every object. Sabrina's hands rested on a book bound in leather. She recognised it very easily, because her best friend's handwriting was scribbled on the front so neatly. And each page inside was dotted with her sketches. She flicked through the book, coming across a double spread about Alpha werewolves.
It talked about: the twins, how they were Alphas that could merge; about Peter and how he was able to turn into an inhumane beast; Deucalion, the demon wolf Alpha; about Talia Hale - Derek's mother - who was indeed a fully evolved Alpha, one that could switch between both human and wolf form; and of course Scott McCall, their very own True Alpha.
Sabrina traced her finger over the bright red eyes Lexie had coloured in over Sabrina's face. It had taken maybe a few hours to get her sketch on point, which meant it mostly consisted of Sabrina moaning that she was hungry and bored, followed by Lexie telling her to stop wriggling in her seat. She thought about this now and smiled to herself, before letting her features drop and remembering where her best friend was. "Were you actually gonna kill her?"
"Sabrina..." Scott stopped her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder before looking over at his best friend. Stiles had his hands placed in his pockets and he was looking down at his feet guiltily, "It wasn't him."
"Whatever." she murmured glancing over at him wearily for a second before looking away and slamming the bestiary shut. If she looked at it any longer, she'd probably burst into tears.
"What the hell were you doing?" Aiden asked, looking between the rope and chains in his hands, "Building a Terminator?"
"Thank you for that." Stiles answered, his voice laced with sarcasm as he paced the area around us, staying as far away as possible from the deathly instruments on the table. As they continued to search through the many objects, Ethan's arm knocked Lexie's bestiary to the floor and Sabrina hurriedly crouched down to pick it up.
Her hands paused on the leather cover, the book had fallen open and a stray piece of paper was sticking out and laying against the floor. Sabrina knew that Lexie wouldn't have kept any loose papers in her book, so she picked it up curiously to examine it. Once her eyes spotted winding roads and the title Beacon Hills, she guessed its purpose. "Guys, this is a map."
The Alpha lifted it up swiftly and moved the contents of the table out of the way so she could lay it flat and examine it properly. The four of them including a worried Stiles stood there, their eyes scanning it's appearance. Suddenly, Sabrina's brows pulled together in confusion when she spotted a line drawn in bright red marker. Ethan had picked up on it too because his index finger immediately traced the faint line, going all the way from 'Woodland Pond' to 'Lookout Point'. For some reason those two areas registered with her but she couldn't quite place it until Ethan voiced his concerns, "Isn't that the cross country trail?"
She cocked her head to the side before her eyes widened in utter shock. Her palm slammed at an area on the map, one that was exactly on the red line."That's the Tate car. Where Malia Tate's family died." her brother gave her a look that said, 'I don't get it' but thankfully, one of her brother's got it because soon, Stiles let out a defeated sigh.
"You mean that's where her father put the steel-jawed traps." And so they had to hurry, because she was pretty sure cross country had already started and that meant any one of those kids could be running straight into a trap, literally.
It wasn't long before Stiles' Jeep pulled up at the start of the trail, both Ethan and Aiden had gone ahead first, preferring to use their own to feet to stop not only Danny -Ethan's words- but also everyone else. Whereas, the two McCalls thought it was best they stuck with Stiles so that he didn't shift back into the dark spirit of the nogitsune again. The three of them slammed their car doors shut before hurrying over to a stunned Coach.
