Sabrina

Scott and I followed Deucalion as he used his cane to direct himself through the foggy filled forest. We eventually came to an open space of land and I worriedly glanced across at my brother when I spotted our guidance counsellor surrounded by a ring of mountain ash, protecting her from the hungry werewolves that lingered outside of it. "How did you know, Marin, that we'd come for you?"

"Because Jennifer and I are the same. And I know you've always been suspicious of us, of what we can do." Morrell narrowed her eyes at Deucalion as he stopped just in front of the mountain ash. The twins and Kali were surrounding the circle, their teeth gnashing in their mouths and their claws hungry for flesh to slash.

"With good reason. We know you sent that girl...the one who helped Isaac." Kali raised an eyebrow, clearly pissed off that Morrell betrayed them, or whatever they think she did. Honestly I don't know, she somehow seems like both the good and the bad guy at the same time. Kinda like me honestly.

"What was her name?"

Morrell looked between Deucalion and Kali and then answered his question. "Braeden. And I sent her to do what I've always done...maintain balance."

"What do you know about Jennifer?" Deucalion interrogated and in the back of my mind, I sensed this was really a waste of time. I don't think Morrell has anything to do with Jennifer. Just because they're the same doesn't mean they're in cahoots with each other.

"Nothing more than you know." that's when her gaze fell on my brother, then on me. A look of warning etched across her features and I had to remind myself why I was doing this so I didn't go fleeing through the forest. "This isn't you, Scott, or you Sabrina."

"What do you know?" I bit back, receiving glances from the rest of the group. I stepped forward, the chill air seeping through the fabric of my clothes and making me shiver anyway. I lifted my hand and pressed it forward so it gently touched the force field of the mountain ash. I wasn't gonna push against it, or struggle, or try kill her, I just wanted to feel it. "Everyone around me has told me I've got some kind of darkness inside of me. I'm just giving in to it."

"The more you believe there's evil within you, the truer it becomes." I met Morrell's eyes and I saw something in them, not just warning, but pleading. I never went to her when she was a guidance counsellor, maybe I should have. Maybe I could've got the help I needed. "You're not evil, Sabrina. You're just a girl, a teenage girl. Go back to your friends. The both of you."

"They can decide what's right for themselves." Deucalion stated as Scott pulled me back so I was at his side, and that's when Deucalion lifted his can slightly, as if blocking us from leaving.

"Not without all the information." Morrell barked back, her eyes settling on Deucalion before a faint signs of a smirk appeared on her face. "Have you told them everything you've done? How you've piled up bodies in a narcissistically psychotic effort to form your perfect pack? He wants you to go after Derek, Kali, to force his decision. If Derek joins the pack, it paves the way for Scott and Sabrina."

Not only did Scott and I look over at Deucalion gobsmacked, but so did the rest of his so-called 'perfect pack'. The twins had a confused expression on their faces and Kali, well she looked like she didn't want to believe it, but knew deep down she was tellin g the truth. Slowly but surely their trust for their leader was decreasing. "The lies people will tell when they're begging for their life."

"Ask him." Morrell nodded to Kali, but before anyone could say anything, the sound of Deucalion ripping the end of his cane startled me. He lifted it in the air like a javelin and within seconds sent it flying through the air towards Morrell. It broke through mountain ash and hit her right in her left shoulder.
