"No," Malia exclaimed abruptly slamming the book she had been reading, shut. Well, she was trying to read it, but hadn't had much progress, mostly because the thing was upside down. Lexie was planning to tell the girl later, but right now, she needed her help. And getting on her bad side by pointing out something humiliating was the last thing she wanted to do.
"Malia, please." the girl didn't answer, her eye just twitched as she stared Stiles down. He was stood behind Lexie, peeking past the girl's petite exterior quite timidly, probably not wanting to get punched again. "If this is about Stiles-"
"I don't trust him." she mentioned with a small shrug before slipping off the creaky bed and standing in front of the two.
"Look, you don't have to trust me-"
"Stiles?" Lexie turned to the exhausted boy and squeezed his hand, "Let me handle this." he nodded and took a step back. She knew that there was no way Stiles could get through to Malia, mostly because she doesn't trust him, which is understandable after everything Lexie told her, most of it barely making sense to the poor girl. "Malia, remember how I said I'd help you, that the others can help you?"
The werecoyote gave a stiff nod, scared of what the girl was going to say next, was she about to threaten her? "Well, they can only do that once they've stopped the Nogitsune. Which means we have to get into that basement. So please...help us?" Malia rolled her eyes, thinking about it intently before letting out a breath she had been holding.
"Fine, but only if you can get me out of here." Lexie sighed in relief before stepping back, almost crashing into Stiles. The three piled out of the girls' room, stepping into the empty hallway and walking in step with each other.
The redhead turned to the tall brunette, her blue eyes locking onto the girl's dark brown ones, there was mischievous twinkle in them and something told her that eventually Malia would be a perfect addition to the pack. "You know the plan right?" this earned a small shrug from the girl as she managed to take the lead, strutting straight through the double doors and into the common area, giving Lexie one last look before heading off to execute said plan,
"How hard can it be?"
When she said it wasn't going to be hard, she meant it, because the distraction was a little spat between her and Oliver, a kid that would not even be able to take Malia on if he tried. Stiles and Lexie stood off to the side, watching as it begun. Shouts echoed throughout the room, alerting not only every single confused patient but all the orderlies too.
"You're lying, you're a liar!" Oliver shouted over and over again as the couple watched Malia pretend to fight the boy off, a crowd had slowly gathered, just as orderlies started weaving their way through.
"What the hell's going on?" And right on time, Brunski arrived to break up the so-called fight, Lexie's expression lifted as she watched Malia do her best at acting confused and hurt. If anything she was proud the girl could pull off something like this.
"You're lying!"
"Get this nut-job off of me." Malia pressed as the orderlies grabbed onto Oliver and tried to yank him away, all whilst Malia 'struggled' in his grasp.
"No! She said that they drill holes in your head. She said they're gonna put a hole in my head!" he was being dragged away, screaming the same things over and over and the words he had chosen made her stomach churn. Trephination. Burr holes. The same thing they were going to do to her before she escaped.
No one knows whether it's true or not, it's always just rumoured, but Lexie knew because she remembered seeing the instruments laying on the metal table, she was told what was going to happen to her. Once he realised that the words had hit a little close to home, Stiles slipped his hand into hers, sending her a reassuring look as she just nodded and rushed forward to help Malia up.
