The wedding ended soon after Jack's "proposal" and Natalie got home. She couldn't sleep that night. She kept thinking about the fact that she was marrying a someone she just met. Even with all the thoughts in her head she fell asleep after a while. The next morning she woke up to the sound of the telephone. Her parents had gone to Sunday mass with her younger siblings, so she was home alone.
She quickly ran downstairs to answer it. "Hello?" she said in a sleepy voice. "Good morning!!" "Who is this?" she asked. "You don't recognize your future husband?! I'm offended!" Jack said sarcastically. "Oh, Jack. Hi. Sorry I just woke up. Why are you calling so early?" Natalie asked. "I wanted to know what kind of a ring you want." Jack said. "Ring?" Natalie asked sill half asleep. "For the engagement, kid." he replied. "First off I am not a kid and second off I thought that was just a dream." Natalie said. "It wasn't a dream." Jack said and laughed. "Right. Look, just get me a surprise ring. Isn't that what you're supposed to do anyways?" Natalie said. "Yes, except see, I barely know you, therefore I don't know your taste in jewelry." he replied. "Just get me anything with a diamond." Natalie said sarcastically. "Alright then, I'll see you tonight." he said.
"Wait! Tonight?" Natalie asked. "Yes, so that I can propose in front of our families...." Jack answered. "Oh no! No! No! No!" Natalie exclaimed "What?" Jack asked. "You are not fake proposing to me in front of my mother! Just give me the ring and I'll tell her tomorrow." Natalie said. "But-" "Seriously Jack! Even if this was a real engagement I wouldn't want it to take place in front of my family! Now, if you don't mind I have to get ready for the day." Natalie said. "Whatever you say... I'll swing by later." Jack said and hung up.
