Natalie looked out the window and saw Jack pull up. Thankfully her mother was at a function and her father was reading a newspaper in the living room. She quietly sneaked out of the house. "Hey." she said. "Hey, kid!" Jack said. Natalie rolled her eyes at his stupid nickname for her. He opened a black velvet box and inside was a gorgeous ring with a 2 carat diamond and a 2 carat emerald surrounded by clusters of tapered baguette diamonds. "Oh my god!" Natalie exclaimed. "Do you like it?" Jack asked. "Do I like it? I love it! Now this Jack Kennedy is impressive. Who did you get this impeccable taste in jewelry from?" Natalie said. "My mother actually." he replied.

"I must say I am stunned." Natalie said. "Well I'm glad you like it." Jack said and smiled. "May I?" he asked taking the ring out of box. He slipped the ring onto her finger. For a moment Natalie felt really happy. That is until she saw her mother drive up. "Oh no! My mother is here!! Okay just say that you were here to drop something off and I'll hide the ring." Natalie said. "Okay." Jack replied. Her mother stepped out of the car. "Jack! Hello! I didn't know we were expecting you." Cheri said. "It's good to see you Mrs. Lavoie. I just came by to see Natalie really quickly." Jack replied. "Well why don't you stay for dinner..." Cheri said. "I would love to, but my mother is expecting me." Jack replied. "Ok then, give Rose my best!" Cheri said. "I will." Jack replied.

Cheri went inside to give Jack and Natalie another moment to say goodbye. "So, I should probably get going..." Jack said. "Well your mother is expecting you." Natalie replied and winked. "So, uh should I tell her about the wedding today?" he asked. "Yes, I supposed you should. I'll probably tell my parents later today." Natalie replied. "Ok then. Be prepared for fainting and newspaper announcements." Jack said and laughed. "Oh I will!" Natalie said. Just as Jack was walking away Natalie said, "Jack!". "Yes?" "I love the ring." Jack smiled and walked off.
