Natalie still couldn't believe everything that was happening.
Just 48 hours ago she was getting married and now her newly wedded husband was in a coma.
As Natalie sat beside Jack in his room, she couldn't help but cry. She felt so bad for him.
Natalie always prayed the rosary in times where she needed a little bit of faith and hope.
"Dear God, please watch over Jack. Please. I just got to know him and he is probably the most wonderful man I've ever met. Dear God, I place my worries in your hands. Amen."
A tear rushed down Natalie's cheek when she felt a hand reach out and wipe it away.
She looked up to see Jack's mile wide smile.
"Well... I had no idea you thought so highly of me." Jack said with a smirk plastered across his face.
"Jack!!" Natalie squealed.
She hugged him gently, as he was in a delicate state.
"You scared me! I thought I was going to lose you Jack." she said with a serious tone in her voice.
"Oh please! Kennedys don't die in hospitals. They're much too dull for our tastes." Jack scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"Jaaack! I don't give a shit about where you'd die, I don't want you dying at all." Natalie whined.
Jack took Natalie's hand and placed it in his.
"Thank you for caring for me. I know my mother couldn't do so, but at least you were able to." Jack said.
"How did you-"
"Natalie. I know my mother. Let me guess... 'Anointing of the sick, give him a hug for me'?" Jack asked.
"Well kiss* but yes..." Natalie said sadly.
"Well I'm not the least bit surprised." Jack stated and laughed it off.
Natalie was surprised by how tough but fake the Kennedys were. It didn't matter if they were dying or getting married, all they cared about was how the public viewed them. Especially Jack's parents. This was an environment she wasn't used to and she felt as if Jack was in need of someone who would give him the love and support he craved.
"Could you call Bobby and ask him to cancel all my meetings for the next few days?" Jack requested.
"Days? Jack, your recovery will most likely take months. Not days..." Natalie stated.
"Well yes, but I plan to work during that time. If I want to campaign for president one day, I can't let a temporary setback affect my whole career." Jack explained.
"I know. But you shouldn't overdo it or you'll be back here." Natalie said.
"Yes mother." Jack said jokingly.
"Jack. Can you shut up and stop acting like a child for a second. You know I'm right. As always anyhow. You talk about being president but don't realize that in order to be a president you have to be in good health. No person wants a president who is on a path to death." Natalie scolded him.
Jack kept quiet and considered what she had just said.
"Two weeks. Then I'm going back to the Senate." Jack announced proudly.
"Fine. But for those two weeks you are doing NOTHING but resting and recovering." Natalie demanded.
"Fineeee" Jack whined as he began to get restless.
"You need to stay here for one more night. Then we can leave." she explained.
Suddenly Jack's father burst through the door happily.
He hugged his son and chatted for a bit before leaving.
Jack fell asleep soon and so did Natalie.
