Natalie spent the next few days with Jack, and soon it was time for her to go back home. The day she got home, it was already August and they had a month until the wedding. Local newspapers had announced their engagement and invitations were mailed out. Life Magazine also published its issue of the couple.

The ceremony was already planned out and it was to take place at St. Mary's Church in Newport, Rhode Island with reception at their family estate; Hammersmith Farm. Natalie's grandfather bought the property the day she was born, out of "celebration".

Natalie was getting more and more nervous everyday. Even though she knew she had feelings for Jack, they never established anything in regards to their relationship in Washington.

"Natalie, Rose and I picked out your dress!" Cheri told Natalie. "Oh, thank you." she replied. "The designer is coming today so she can fit it for you." Cheri said. "Alright. Thank you," Natalie replied.

Natalie knew it was inevitable that she would have no say in the matter of her dress, but she didn't mind.

Later that day the designer of the dress, Ann Lowe, and Rose arrived at Natalie's home. "Hello, Natalie." Rose said. "Hello, Mrs. Kennedy." she replied. Natalie's mother was in the kitchen preparing tea which gave Rose and Natalie a moment alone.

"I spoke to Jack and he told me about your visit to Washington." she started. "Ah yes. It was very fun!" Natalie replied. "You know, he seems very happy. I don't think he's ever looked at another woman the way he looks at you. And trust me, there have been many." she said. Those were probably the kindest words Rose had spoken to Natalie, but the last few were unsettling. "Why thank you." Natalie replied.

A little while later, Natalie went to put on the dress. It wasn't really her taste, but she still liked it. It was of ivory-colored silk taffeta, with a portrait neckline as well as a huge round skirt. The skirt featured interwoven tucking bands and tiny wax flowers. It was very pretty, but Natalie would've preferred a more simple dress. Mrs. Kennedy insisted however, that it be more traditional and extravagant.

Mrs. Lowe made some finishing touches and took the dress away. Natalie didn't want anyone to see her in it until the day of the wedding.
