Chapter 4

"The boards are laying on the sand!!" Kara shouted as both Her and Haven ran out to the ocean. Mason was the first to run to the boards that had been places on the soft beach sand. "wait up." He yelled running to the water.

Moments after everyone was in the water laying on their chests or sitting on their boards waiting for a perfect wave to hit. Thy were all waiting in a line to the side. the order was Mason,Haven,Kara,Brooke,Channing,Crystal,and then Christiana. It was silent as everyone stared of to the ocean waiting and waiting.

"This is pointless today's just not a surf day." Crystal said paddling back to shore. "Yeah I agree." Christiana said paddling back soon catching up with Crystal. "Well Kara,Chan, and I should be heading back too." Brooke said giving Kara and Chan a slight wink. Mason and Haven gave the three girls questioning looks. "We promised Brooke that we will help her make a sandcastle." Chan said "Yeah never break a pinky promise." Kara said holding out her pinky, leading the way to shore. It was just Haven and Mason left since Brooke left the both of them alone so they could obviously be alone.

Haven's POV:

"You caught on right?" I asked Mason waving my hand against the surface of the water. "Yeah,i did." Mason said looking up at me. "they have this weird idea that you and I will make the "perfect ideal" couple." I said putting air quotations while I said perfect and ideal. "Well mean, we could." Mason said rubbing the back of his neck. "What?" I asked confused. "Like be a couple there's no such thing as a perfect couple but I mean we can be a couple. Mason stumbled "Are you Mason Hunt. asking Haven Matthews to be you girlfriend?" I said teasingly. "Oh Uhmmm." Mason said at list for words. "Calm down Mason, I know you were only kidding, we have been best friends since the 4th grade nothing and I mean nothing will ever change that." I said giving him a small smile. "Yeah." He said putting on a fake smile. I didn't know why he was upset, but ill find out sooner or later, he can't keep a secret from me "Come on their right." I said giving him a small push. "Huh?" He asked confused "today's not a surfing day." I said verifying on what I had meant. "oh yeah, right." he said turning his board back and paddling withe close behind him.

Brooke's POV:

"Did you ask her?" I asked quietly as soon as Mason came to shore. "Sorta, it doesn't matter." He shot back with a cracking voice. "What happened?" I asked catching his arm to make him stop walking. "She said we will just be best friends, and nothing more she laughed right in my face she thought I was joking." He whispered as low as possible obviously hurt. "Mason I'm sorry." I said looking down I for sure thought they liked each other "It doesn't matter, I'm leaving Kahului anyway." Mason said putting his hand up festering for me to stop, after he finished his sentence he walked off. placing the board down next to Haven's porch, and running away. "ugh ill just text him later." I said to myself. I turned around and started walking to the rest of the girls.

As soon as Brooke reached the girls,she instantly joined in the conversation. "So just tell us what happened." Chan said "What are you talking about what happened we talked that's what happened." Haven said truthfully. "Guys." Brooke said to the girls shaking her head. Everyone except Haven had catches on. "Ooooh." everyone except Haven and Brooke said. "Wait what I'm confused."Haven said waving her hands around to make everyone shut up even though they were already silent. "We told Mason to ask you out since he really likes you." Crystal said. Haven stood there still with wide eyes, "But you had to laugh right in his face you know he's hurt right now." Brooke said slightly pissed. "I thought he was joking last time we talked about a girl he like he said Brenda." Haven said defending herself not wanting to believe that Mason really had feelings for her. "Forget Brenda he just said that do you wouldn't find out he liked you." Christina said "and how do you guys know this." Haven asked crossing her arms. "because he told us." Kara said as if it was obvious. Haven just looked down. "what do I do?" Haven asked her best friends looking up at them with questioning eyes. "do you like him?' Channing said "yeah I guess, I forced myself to stop, since her told me he liked Brenda, but truly I never really stopped." haven said looking down. "that's alright it's good we knew you two were a perfect couple." Crystal said jumping up with excitement.

Haven's POV:
The girls and I had gone inside to change. We were sorta in a rush to get to Mason's house so we just threw our clothes over our swimsuits. I didn't feel like going through the hamper. Si I got some high waisted shorts and a crop top with my black vans.

Haven's POV: still

I brushed my hair out releasing the tangles and threw it into a pony tail. "I'm going to go to his house, you can A. go home
B. come with me
Or
C. Stay here and wait for me.
I said naming off their option s before I left. Kara and Brooke decided to wait at my house for me and Christiana,Channing and Crystal decided to go home. "Okay I'm off." I said running out of my room and out the front door. I started my run to Mason's house. He has to know that I didn't mean to laugh at him.
