Essence

"Wow" I gasp left my lips uncontrollably, the place was huge I don't thing I'll ever get used to the thought of any of this, it's crazy, this is crazy.

My lips slightly parted as I looked around people were slow dancing, others were talking, no one looked to what you'd picture criminals to be, they were all weirdly attractive and of different age ranges

I looked at the people dancing gracefully as one of the couples did a dip as the girl swung her leg around his hip and he held it, the slit in her dress exposed her leg showing a dark band around her thigh and what looked like knives stashed

Did everyone have knifes on them? I looked to see Killian beside me looking at me, did he have things on him too?

"Yes" he said out of no where reading my thoughts

"What" I asked confused pretending not to know what he meant, he looked unconvinced and raised one eyebrow at me

"I saw you look at that girl and back at me, you're very readable bambina and lucky for you I seem to be a Essence-expert" he winked and removed his hand from mine, I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed at the missing warmth, but it was soon replaced as he slid the same hand around my waist pulling me closer to me and whispering into my ear

"So I know what you're gonna do before you do it, and what your gonna say before it leave that pretty little mouth" his breathe tickled my ear and he lifted his head to look at me, his eyes landing on my lips

I'm imagining things, I have to be

"So to answer your question- Yes. I do, as does probably everyone in this place" he smirked "except you of course"

I rolled my eyes at him scoffing and crossing my arms, I was unarmed in a place full of criminals, what the actual fuck

I felt a little push behind my back causing me to step into foot with Killian, he brought me around to the back where I saw everyone's familiar faces

"You ok Ess?" Easton called out looking at my face, I nodded my head shortly

"Bit overwhelmed but who wouldn't be in a place full of criminals" I nervously laughed looking around the huge place

"You'll be ok I promise" my gaze turned back to him, he raised his hand up slightly "wanna dance to calm your nerves" he asked

I felt a squish on my waist, but protective for someone who hates me.

"I'll watch her man, you'll see us from the middle don't worry" he reassured him, the touch once again leaving my body cold

"Fair lady" he bowed offering a hand I laughed slightly "good sir" I curtsied in returned putting my hand into his

"I wanna dance too!" Bri said excitedly "let's go Nelly you're the only one I like" she said grabbing onto Neils hand and walking but pulled half way back with Killians hand on Neils shoulder

Killian leaned forward whispering something into his ear then releasing him, Neil looked like he was about to pee making me chuckle silently. But brought the attention back into me

I heard a slight grunt beside me but ignored it following as Easton lead me to the middle of the room, it caught a few gazes, mostly from men, I shifted uncomfortably but soon was pulled into Easton

He put one hand around my waist and the other holding my hand "you overthink" he told me as if it was a statement

"Who doesn't" I replied to him, it's hard not to I can't come it'll my mind and I'm this situation it's never been more full
