Essence

"Hey" a voice called from behind me, I turned around with the water in my hand, as I stood beside Bri while she got herself a drink

I looked to see a man staring back at me with a smile, he Unshamefully checked me out and licked his lips, ok ew

"So what's your name?" He asked me, should tell him my name?

"What's yours," I asked him back, he narrowed his eyes

"I asked you first," he said, I raised one eyebrow and took a deep breath still not giving in, he laughed at me and shook his head "you're a stubborn one Aren't you"

"Well I'm Xavier" he offered a hand, I hesitantly took his hand and shook it "and you are?" He insisted

I opened my mouth to speak but got Interrupted "hey Essence are you-" Bri came up from behind me

"Essence" he looked proud of himself for finding out my name and nodded "unusual name" he added one

"Say—what is your last name," he asked me, what is with people asking me that question

"None of your business Xavier" Bri rolled her eyes drawing out his name  "aren't you supposed to be at the back" she nudged her head behind the curtain where everyone went, it's been longer than half an hour I wonder what they could be doing for that long

"Yeah well Brianna" he drew out her name as well "only a few of the group went to the back, plus I saw this beauty" he winked at me "and wanted to talk to her"

"Yeah well she's taken" Bri spoke for me, I raised my eyebrows looking at her beside me in confusion

"Does she know she is" he laughed looking at my face

"Yes, yes I do, I was just surprised cause I wasn't planning on telling people" I shrugged

"Who's the lucky guy" he looked at me a smile still placed on his lips

I opened my mouth again just to be cut off again by Bri "my brother" she said, my eyes went wide once more

"younger or older?" he said jokingly

"Older of course" she rolled her eyes, at his poorly joke, "and he doesn't like people looking at what's his" she finished

"Then he shouldn't have brought her to a place where that's all they are going to do," he said back then looked at me "hmm" he hummed to himself like he was thinking hard whether or not to say anything

"Do you have any siblings?" he asked me all traces of jokes leaving his face

"No..?" I answered him confused

"Really?" He acted as if he didn't believe me, why would he ask me that? I wished at times I had siblings or any family members in fact, but I'm pretty much alone

"Yes really" I took a step towards him

He smiled again at my actions then turned serious and put his hand to his ear, of course, he had an earpiece too

"What do you mean" he whispered, "where did Emilio go!" He raised his voice the smallest bit but still at a whisper, he looked shocked then looked at me

My face filled with confusion as I looked at Bri to see the same reaction on her face

"No—it's not possible Jackson," he said, he was talking to Jackson "I'm telling you I thought so too but Emilio will kill us if we are wrong" he turned around and stepped away a bit  and hushed his voice so we couldn't hear him as much

I nudged Bri and shook my head in the direction we should walk off too, she knotted her eyebrows before nodding

I grabbed her hand and we slipped away without him noticing, stupid idiot, ghat whole group of people is suspicious no wonder they are enemies
