Essence

I sat on the bed thinking about everything trying to take it in until a sudden knock came "come in" I yelled, the door opened and revealed Emilio, he wasn't dressed up for once, and he had regular clothes on

"Hey" he smiled, I smiled back and nodded my head acknowledging him, "I just wanted to say sorry for overwhelming you today, finally having you here-with me I guess I just wanted to tell everyone" she shrugged

"Oh it's fine, I didn't really mind" I kissed my teeth "it was actually kinda nice if I'm being honest, I wasn't ever really hugged until I finally met my friends and boyfriend" I chuckled

"I never really liked hugs" he laughed along

"I didn't know you cook" I suddenly brought up, he moved and sat at the edge of the bed

"My mom taught me" he brought up

"I wish I could cook" I scrunched my face "it never ends well

"I can teach you" he offered "it's actually pretty easy"

"Really" I gasped, "that'd be amazing" he smiled widely

"Good—um good I'm glad" he nodded, "so what are you studying to be?" He asked me

"I don't know yet, I don't have a single clue on what I want to be, maybe a writer" I shrugged my shoulder telling him the truth

"Do you like books?" He asked me

"Love them, they always helped me get away from my issues or things I was going through cause I could just imagine I was in the book, then I'd deal with the things that happen in book and I'd be ok, plus the ones that end in happy endings make me believe that I'll get mine" I rambled on, he watched me talk about it with a small smile lacing his lips

"I'll get you some books" he offered

"Oh you don't need to do that it's ok" I said

"It's ok I want to, you look happy talking about it and I just want you to be happy" he said, Essence don't cry!

"Thank you" I said truthfully, "I mean it thank you"

He nodded his head not saying anything "I-uh- I should let you sleep it's pretty late," he said awkwardly, when did he become so awkward

"Good night" I said and stood up to walk him out, he stopped half way then looked back at me, I sent him a small smile, he looked like he was deep in thought, he made a swift move and wrapped his arms around me

I tended slightly and my arms stayed by my sides, I quickly wrapped them back around him and laid my head on his chest, he was extremely tall might I add

He sighed when he felt me give into the hug, I thought he didn't like hugs

"Thank you" he said into the hug

"For what?" I asked

"For being so normal about it I guess, I mean I kidnapped you, and you aren't taking the first chance you get to run away but instead you're here" he added, I smiled even tho he couldn't see my face

I pulled back a bit and looked at him "no problem" I shrugged "I'm amazing like that"

He laughed "yeah whatever, ruin a good moment" he shook his head and let go of me, I laughed and he sent a small smile walking away

I closed the door and went back onto the bed

Maybe he's not..that bad
