a/n: I have a burning hate for the pet name, bubs, I don't know why but I hate it.

"Tests can lie," Saburo grumbled, ever since you left the gas station after your announcement you had expected to see him happy or at least relieved for hearing that the whole pregnancy fighting was going to be over. But instead, he had started grumbling and pouting ever since.

"I thought you would be excited about this." You admitted in warry. "We've been trying for years and now I'm finally pregnant!"

"We don't know that for sure." He cut in, his arms crossed across his chest, and his gaze focused out the window. He was clearly frustrated with the grumble in his voice and the arch of his eyebrows exposing the matter.

"Hey man, you should be happy. Your wife is having a baby!" Keigo's voice pierced through the tense air.

He was cut short by a jab of Niko's elbow against his rib, "why are you defending her?" She scoffed.

He turned his head for a second, giving her a skeptical look, "why are you two so cranky? I thought this was good news."

"Whatever. Congrats, Y/n."

"Sure. Great News." Saburo added, his words causing your heart to ache in your chest. You turned toward the window and blinked, trying to keep in tears that you didn't want coming out.

"By the way, my sister is coming this weekend and she's been trying to get pregnant for a while," Niko announced, interrupting your thoughts. Her tone was now more cheery than before. "She'll want to know what you did differently this month to get pregnant."

Your body stiffened.

"With Keigo and I, it was so easy. Right, bubs?" She cooed, and from the corner of your eye, you could see her place her hand on his thigh.

"Right," He muttered in response, his wings faltering in gloom.

I wonder if the real dad even knows she's carrying his child... you thought to yourself, biting your lip nervously.

"That's enough of this. No more baby talk for the rest of the drive." Saburo declared, silence once again taking over the car for the rest of the ride.
