Tommy followed Amber outside to help her look for Chris and Emily.
"I think they went this way." He said pointing her in the opposite direction of where their bodies were floating.
She smiled and followed him.
After a moment of silence Amber spoke. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah... it's just crazy." Tommy faked innocence. "Are you?"
"Yeah I mostly just feel awful for Leah" Amber added.
Tommy was silent. He couldn't figure out why everyone was feeling so sorry for her. She was free of him. He was bad for her and he'd handled it.
"I mean she loved him-" Amber continued talking mindlessly.
"What!? Loved?" Tommy asked seriously.
"Well yeah they were together."
"Did she say that? Did she tell you she loved him?" He demanded.
"Well no... but it's obvious don't you think?" Amber said, startled by his anger.
"She didn't love him! She never loved him! She never will love him!" He shouted, grabbing her shoulders and shaking her.
"What the hell is wrong with you!" Amber tried to struggle out his grip.
It didn't work, he held on to her tighter.
"She doesn't love him! She doesn't love him!"
"Tommy!? What the fuck!?" Amber started to panic.
"She will love me when she finds out what I've done to protect her!"
"What are you-" she looked in his eyes "Tommy did you... did you...did..."
"I'm sorry Amber." Tommy pulled Amber into a tight hug.
Too tight.
He held her so tightly that she couldn't breath.
"T-t-tommy p-please!" Amber could nearly get out the words.
She struggled. Unable to speak. Unable to do anything but thrash around in his arms.
"I'm so sorry."
He crushed her windpipe.
Amber was dead.
He dragged her body to the back of the house and left it there. Covering her with leaves so her body couldn't been seen so obviously.
Tommy trudged back to the front of the house, Wes was the only one left.
Tommy had to kill Wes.
He opened the door and stood in the kitchen for a moment. He picked up the sharpest, biggest knife he could find. It had to happen now. Wes had to die.
The strangest thing was, that Tommy no longer felt bad. He didn't feel bad that his plan hadn't gone the way he wanted. In fact he thought it was better this way. They could go on the run together. Live the rest of their lives travelling the world. He would protect her. Forever.
Tommy snapped out of his thoughts. He couldn't be distracted, not now. Not yet.
"Wes! Amber wants to speak to you, come here a moment." He called.
Wes stood up, leaving Leah alone in the living room.
"What's up? where is she-" he was interrupted by the painful stab of Tommy's knife being shoved into his stomach.
"Sshhsshhshhsshhsshh! We don't want to scare her!" Tommy whispered as he stabbed Wes again and gently layer him down on the kitchen floor.
Tommy stood over his friends body. It was done. They could be together. It was perfect.
Just as Tommy was feeling particularly proud of himself, he heard the smashing of a cup behind him.
Leah stood at the doorway, her cup of tea smashed on the floor.
"What did you do!?" She screamed. "What did you do!?"
Tommy was silent. This wasn't how he wanted her to find out.
"What did you do!? What did you do!? What did you do!?" She screamed over and over, tears streaming down her face.
"Leah..."
"No! Get away from me!" Leah ran back into the living room and up the stairs.
Tommy ran after her, chasing her up the stairs to the second floor.
"Olly! Olly!" She screamed as she got closer to where he was being kept. "Olly!... Help! Please! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"
Tommy caught up to her and grabbed her. He dragged her into the nearest bedroom, Holly's, and tied her to a chair. He taped her mouth shut and stood in front of her in a panic.
It was t supposed to happen like this.
"I'm not going to hurt you! I did this for you!" He smiled at her and cupped her cheeks.
She struggled against the ties and screamed into the tape. "Leah calm down! Let me explain... just let me explain."
