19. I knew it was a temporary vacation but I didn't know it would finish before it even started.

"Hi" said Ash unnecessarily. "Hi" Mavis said enthusiastically. "Bye" I said interrupting their beautiful conversation. Sorry, but this wasn't the time to have a tea party and gossip about our next door neighbors or something.

"Mavis, thanks for the dramatic escape but what now?"

She glared at me. "The prophecy. You guys better go." I suddenly remembered that entire poetry session that we had. The quest. Dang it. Did they never give us a break? They as in destiny.

"I'm coming too." Mavis said as I grabbed Ash and made my way to the door. She stopped uncertainly. "I can right?"

I looked at her suspiciously. "If this is another trick I'm warning you, I won't be as nice and forgiving." She laughed. "Last time I tricked you, you ripped my face off making me shape shift. How much worse can it get?"

"You don't want to find out."

She sobered. "This isn't a trick. I swear."

Ash looked at me and Mavis for a few seconds blinking a couple of times. "Ok guys, I'm having trouble understanding alien language. Can you'll talk in English please?" Alex what prophecy and when did you rip her face off? Mavis since when were you a shape shifter? Also I am so sorry for my brother's awful behavior."

"Figura subcinctus." Mavis said smiling.

"Shape shift." Ash said automatically.

"Because there isn't an appropriate word in Latin for shifter." I said proud to know that fact.

"How do you know?" Ash asked in surprise.

"I just do." I said and Mavis smirked evilly knowing that she could expose me.

"Virtus et honestas est."

"Honesty is a virtue." Ash translated. She rolled her eyes. "Let me guess. Mavis told you."

I punched her. "Geez ladies. Enough. I forgot to tell you about the prophecy after we escaped. Sorry. I just remembered it now because earlier I was just relieved that we had escaped. That is exactly why we escaped. I am such an idiot."

"Yeah you are. Never mind. Tell me the prophecy."

"A soul is taking over her

A king is deep within

You need to go on a quest to bring

The anima mea ring

To find it you must fight your way

Through dawn and dusk and dark

It's deep within a lost dead soul

A grave that brings a spark"

I recited out of memory. I still remembered it which was pretty surprising. It was like it was etched into my skull. Ash's eyes were huge. "There's gotta be more."

Mavis's eyes suddenly rolled inward so that we could only see the whites.

"A name of a person

A name of a place

This is a king that the

Dark ones embrace

The ring will not end it

The king will remain

But when the world crumbles

Hope shall prevail."

I shuddered and Mavis looked around in confusion. "What happened?" She asked. "Did I........" "You did I confirmed." She rubbed her temples and shook her head a bunch of times.

Ash was spellbound. "World crumbling does not sound great."

"Yeah, no kidding." I said.

"So where do we start?" Mavis asked.

"Graveyard." Ash and I said simultaneously at the same time. We looked at each other and laughed. Suddenly it felt like a normal day hanging out with a friend and your annoying sister as if we are planning to go watch a movie or something. Not a weird day where I am hanging out with an untrustworthy stranger who randomly bursts into poetry and a smarter than you kind of sister attempting to solve a quest regarding world destruction. We don't always get what we want do we?

"Mavis, do you know any graveyards?"

She nodded. "One. The only one. Unfortunately you are going to have to go through the borders of Twilight. Again."
