25. We crash Violet's tea party.
We hurried through the same corridor me and Ash ran through for our escape. I felt a coil of dread in the pit of my stomach. Maybe coming here wasn't the best idea.........
Mavis pointed at a door and all of us immediately rushed in, straight into Violet who was walking around in circles shaking her right fist while holding an ice pack to her head with her left. When she saw us, she glared at us as if we were inexcusably late for a meeting.
But then her expression changed from being mildly annoyed to tear you to pieces angry. I should know that look. I realized she was glaring at Mavis. She raised her left hand and threw the ice pack at her.
"You scum betrayer."
The ice pack hit Mavis squarely on the cheek and she hung her head. "I guess I deserved that."
Ash stared at her incredulously. "Mavis can I ask you something? Who the HELL's side are you on?"
Mavis shrugged and I felt like strangling her. Here we were in front of Violet, the bad guy (in case you haven't realized) and Mavis who had just happened to switch to our side seemed equally happy to switch back and work against us.
This wasn't the right moment to be uncooperative. Wow, I just said a thirteen lettered five syllable word. How cool is that?
I faced Violet to see that she had disappeared from where I saw her last. Shouldn't have got distracted because of my expert verbal vocabulary huh? Ash screamed, "behind you." A couple of seconds too late.
Suddenly a heel came in contact with the small of my back and I fell hard on my stomach. I rolled over gasping to see Violet holding a sword she had apparently taken from one of the armor pedestals.
Without knowing what the hell I was doing I pointed the ring at her. Suddenly time seemed to just slow down and I was surrounded by a bright light.
Violet was in front of me, clearly screaming but I couldn't hear a sound. I could actually see the whitish smoke of souls like earlier when we did it to the skeleton. But there were so many souls getting sucked out of her. It was inhuman.
This is going to sound really weird. But it's the truth. Violet looked like a goddess in the light and the souls getting sucked out of her made her look like she radiated a powerful aura.
I'm dazzled. Never said that. What am I.........ugh talk about an utter moron. Suddenly the bright light vanished and things returned back to normal.
Violet looked at us and gave a drunken smile. "Hi."She said and crumpled to the ground.
Mavis was behind her holding her iron bar.
"Was that really necessary?" Ash asked her.
"No." I shouted from the floor.
"Guys, it's ok. Violet's good now."
"But I'm not." Mavis said.
