35. Ru Twilight defines style. Yeah he has an Einstein hair cut but don't hate on him. He has style.

We got into the blast zone just when the explosions ceased. Call it destiny. Dumb luck. Extreme convenience. They all work.

"Finally."" Ru Twilight said with satisfaction. "I am unstoppable."

We exchanged glances and I was seriously thinking about just calling it a day and running back home, screaming when Mavis put her nose in the air and turned to our direction. Her eyes widened with slight surprise but then she got them under control and smiled.

"I thought I smelt fear. How was the inferis Alex? I forgot you didn't know Latin. It means the underworld."

I stepped in front of the girls. As I have mentioned time and time before, I was a nice gentleman.

"And I guess your sense of smell is even worse that your sense of humor."

Everyone just stared me in surprised silence. Ok I get it. That was a bad comeback. I didn't have an official good comeback line book. I kept going. Just trying. And failing.

"See she's not laughing. I rest my case." Sadly I didn't get the applause I deserved. Instead Ash gave me a 'you are such an idiot' look and Violet mouthed 'what the hell?'

Ash stepped forward. "What he means is we are about to kick your ass so surrender or be humiliated." Violet nodded approvingly and stepped forward smiling. "No choice."

Instead of shivering and saying something like, 'oh, I'm sorry miss Ash and miss Violet.........I never realized', Ru Twilight threw back his head and laughed. "Are we supposed to be scared?" he sounded so conversational I couldn't help myself. "It would be extremely helpful......."

Violet interrupted me while Ash face palmed. Our conversation sounded like this.

Violet – "What he means is.........."

Mavis – "Stop interrupting him."

Me – "Exactly let me speak."

Mavis – "Dad, I told you he was amusing."

Me- "Wait what?"

Violet – "As I was saying....."

"As I was saying, do you accept our challenge?"

Ru Twilight smiled sweetly. Ash broke in. "You don't have a choice mister."

Mavis laughed. "If you phrase it that way, why ask anyway?"

"Just being polite." Shot Violet and I took a step back holding my hands up. "You girls talk it out", just as Ru Twilight walked away saying "I'll be off now."

He looked at me and grinned wickedly. "Mavis was right. You do have some style."

"You too Ru." I said and burst out laughing. "Hey I just thought of something. What if someone spells your name and then says ok. Like R – U – ok?"

Seeing the looks of disgust I muttered defensively. "It's funny."

Ru Twilight still smiled. It was beginning to look a little creepy. "You boyo, have just sealed your fate."

"Which is?" I asked. He smiled and held up the watch. "Any last words?"

He clicked a button and a trap door swung open exactly where I was standing which means I plummeted down to my death.

"No." I heard Ash and Violet scream and then the trap door swung shut. I was falling down a pipe. I realized that when it slanted and I was sliding on the surface of it. There was no use calling for help but I did anyway. It kinda made me feel weirdly better.

So this was how I was going to die. Wait what? I'm in a pipe. I can save myself. I put my hand into my pocket and drew out a knife. Gritting my teeth I plunged the knife into a pipe.

It didn't exactly penetrate through like I hoped it would, but it got stuck so I managed to prevent myself from sliding further downwards. Suddenly I heard the sound of a liquid trickling and I looked at the pipe part where my knife was sticking out from.

It was leaking and the pipe was probably going to gradually fill up.
