26. Twilight's my name. Twilight's my game.........

She suddenly jumped onto me. "Sorry Slogans." She grabbed the ring off my finger. Practically ripped it off my finger. "You made it so much easier. Thanks."

She laughed evilly, dropped the ring on the ground and stepped on it. Ash screamed and I lay my head on the ground helplessly, tears pouring down my face. Why had I trusted her? I had failed my parents. I had failed Ash. I had failed Arthur and also, I had failed myself.

I rubbed my eyes and looked in horror trying to take in the scene. All the souls seemed to be going to the exact same spot like there was some small soul attracting magnet or something. I could practically see it forming flesh and blood creating a body. Who.......?

Someone was sobbing over my shoulders. Ash.

The blinding lights finally vanished except one which was upon the mixture of souls like a spotlight in some overdramatic tragedy played on stage.

I looked at the body that had formed in amazement. It was a tall man, dressed in a black long cloak. He had a long face and Albert Einstein's hair but I decided that this wasn't exactly the moment to point that out and roll on the floor laughing. I have to admit though. It was hard.

His eyes were red though and that sort of ruined the whole comedy effect. Mavis hugged him.

"Father."

My lower lip hit the ground. "What, I mean who, are you?" I asked. I know. Stupid first question but I wanted to know how a mixture of souls from Violet's body just happened to be Mavis's dad. Like 'oh hey, wassup? I have never met you but if you are a bunch of souls, you my pops.'

He let go of Mavis and focused his attention on us. "My name is Ru Twilight."

"What did you say?" Ash yelled hiding behind me. He looked around and smirked in mild amusement.

"Dude, I just paid my respects to your grave." Ash said.

Wow, not even some Albert Einstein gone wrong kinda dude who should be dead, could stop her tongue. But I supported her.

"Yeah dude. Aren't you supposed to be like.......I don't know. Dead"

Do you recognize the above statement? Because I do. All too well. I said the exact same thing to the skeleton. Last I checked that didn't go too well.

He threw back his head and laughed. "I didn't die of an experiment, moron."

I looked at him blankly. "I never said you did."

He scowled at me. "Not you. I'm talking to my daughter."

Oh right, I said to myself. Silent speaking. I should've known. Ash was totally fan girling now. "Wow, you guys are telepathic." Ah there's the word I was looking for.

He nodded and looked at Ash with approval.

"Tell us your story." Ash said, snatching the chance to find out something. I was feeling completely ignored but Ash deserved her moments. Sad. No, no I'm happy for her.

"I made myself a watch which could suck my soul out of myself and put it into the next leader. Everything was done by magic. It was perfect."

He focused his gaze on Mavis and glared at her. "Did you really think I died because of a failed experiment?"

Mavis hung her head. He shrugged. "Whatever. At least you managed to finally free me. As I was saying, I created a way for my soul to exist inside the next person and so on." Ash was making gagging sounds and I tried not to puke.

He calmly walked to the unconscious form of Violet and calmly removed her black Rolex watch. "Mine, I think."

Ash held onto her black broken Rolex fake watch as if she was afraid he would take it away from her.

"Are you good or bad?" I asked. Knowing that was all that mattered.

He laughed. "Neither. I am........"

"Neutral." Ash interrupted happily sounding completely sure of herself. He glared at her. "I'm evil and vile." Was I the only one who noticed that both those words were spelt using the same letters?

Ash made gagging sounds again. God, I never knew she could be this helpful.

"Ok." I said and nervously got to my feet pulling Ash up with me. "We are leaving. Now." He narrowed his eyes. "Is that so?" I rolled my eyes trying to convey the sarcasm boiling within me. He laughed.

"Sorry kiddo. Play time's over."

He raised his right hand holding Violet's watch in the air. Suddenly I wasn't sure if it was Violet's watch anymore. I realized that it was the same watch he mentioned past down from generation to generation.

He put his finger on a single button and I noticed that the entire strap was covered with buttons. Hadn't noticed that before. The button he clicked, didn't rise back up again. It just stayed stuck downwards.

He looked at me and Ash with a slight smile of malice.

"Twilight's my name

Twilight's my game

You'll be dead meat

But I'll be the same."

His finger pressed down.
