It turns out Hat Kid and Bow Kid aren't quite done collecting time pieces just yet...
Originally I had a funny joke about smelling a fight on the horizon, but Cosmo_Knight wanted to see Beta Outlander designs, so you can thank them for getting rid of that joke.
Anyway. I included Beta Jaide too, because why not? She is best mom. I know some of you may be doubting her, which is right of you to, but just keep in mind that everyone has good in them.
Well, except for Vanessa. She's a peck neck. And also [REDACTED].

These were my designs for them when I first came up with them about two years ago.
About the Outlander. As you can see, he's just a blob. My main inspiration was basically just a mash-up of Snatcher and Akumu (or Kumu) from Glitchtale. But I didn't really like the design, so I changed it to what you know now. I got rid of the yellow eyes and mouth (since that was too much like Snatcher), and changed them to white. You can see Beta Outlandy's mouth at all times. I came up with the idea of his mouth disappearing when he stopped talking recently and I thought it was cool so-
Let's talk about Jaide. I was too lazy to draw anything other than from waist-up, since that's the area where any of the changes actually happened. As you can see, she's HEAVILY based on Moonjumper, like holy peck. I have NO inspiration whatsoever. She didn't change as much as the Outlander had, but I got rid of the glitchy triangles (since they were a pecking pain to draw), gave her the bandage on her right hand, actually came up with a story for her, and solidified her rules for her magic.
This was basically my thought process when I was creating them:
Me making Jaide: I need mom material. Something based off of someone familiar and recognizable. But not too based- wait NO TOO MUCH SHE'S TOO MUCH LIKE MOONJUMPER NO-
Me making Outlander: Turn the cuteness up higher. Higher. HIGHER. I NEED MAXIMUM CUTENESS!!!

Bow Kid stood outside Jaide's home, absentmindedly kicking at the frozen ground. She'd wandered out while Hattie and the Outlander talked inside. She wondered vaguely what they were talking about but didn't bother to listen in. She was kind of bored, to be honest.
She stopped kicking when her toes landed next to a flower. She paused, then knelt down next to it. It looked almost exactly like those other flowers on the clifftop where they'd met the Outlander. Except...
She bent down, taking a closer look. That flower was pretty much identical to the white ones- same petals, same stalk, same odd reflective sheen- but it was black. Bow Kid frowned and reached out to touch it. She could see her distorted reflection in it, but the world seemed darker when she looked into the black flower.
