Chapter 15

Warning

*Teen Drinking*

The pizza is ordered. We have gone through a couple rounds of Cards Against Humanity and Blue Hawaiian Cocktails. Rogue's turn came around again.

"What is a girl's best friend?" He read aloud.

The choices I have are very slim. The only option I had was sexual, but extremely realistic. I placed mine down and tried to keep my poker face.

I glanced up at Wayne, who sat across from me at the table. He bit his lip and grinned. Even if he doesn't know it, he is teasing me.

Wayne's eyes met mine and I gulped. His intoxicating eyes shined with desire. He's a sexy drunk.

Everyone placed their cards in the center and Rogue picked them up.

"Cuddling," he started, "an erection that lasts longer than four hours, sexual tension, and getting fingered."

That last one was mine. Everyone laughed at how dirty the answers were.

"I am not a girl, so I can't choose with experience." Wayne let out a short snicker at Rogue's honesty. I gritted my teeth and lightly kicked him in the shin. He barely flinched. "But, I do know that Simon picked 'an erection that lasts longer than four hours'"

Simon nodded and laughed inmaturely. I rolled my eyes as Rogue placed that one aside.

"I'm gonna have to say 'sexual tension'."

Wayne extended an arm to Rogue, summoning the card. "I win."

I started to tap my foot in annoyance. I know he's right, but I don't want to admit it.

"That's impossible," Rogue scoffed and crossed his arms. Wayne raised an eyebrow.

This won't be good.

"I guess I just know women better than you do." Wayne gave him a condescending smile.

I saw Rogue open his mouth, but I put a hand on his arm and spoke before he could.

"I think it's your turn, Anderson."

He shrugged and pulled a card. "What's my secret power?"

Really? This one is gonna start a fight.

I put down a card that I know will bring attention to me. Wayne looked over all of the cards that were laid out for him.

"Daddy issues, AXE body spray, self-loathing, and pretending to care."

I giggled into my hand and looked at the ground. "What's so funny, Freeman?"

I lifted my head and grinned comediacly. "Daddy issues." I didn't pick that one, but it fits.

"Thank you, Simon, for that." Wayne rolled his eyes. "He wins."

"Why does everyone know what I picked?" Simon asked.

"You are crazy predictable, idiot." I chuckled and shook my head.

"I guess it runs in the family." Wayne held up my card. "Pretending to care? When have I ever pretended to care about something?"

"Well, you did break up with your girlfriend and then kissed her at my party. You don't care about someone if you treat them like that. You clearly pretended to care about her just to play with her emotions."

I can't believe I just defended Kelsey again, but it was a small price to pay for Wayne's reaction. His jaw dropped and eyes widened. The room went quiet.
