You kicked as you picked up speed on your board. You were skating around the neighborhood when Normie texted you to meet him at the mall. Since you had the rest of the day off, you figured you had time to spare. Plus, you could use some new clothes if you were going to be attending Horizon.
You made it to the parking lot where you found Normie hanging around with someone else. When you got closer, you realized that it was Faye.
Normie: Yo!
You skated over to them and stopped. You kicked the board up and caught it before you walked towards them.
Y/N: Hey. You guys ready to head in?
Faye: Into the capitalists' nest? Totally.
Normie: You know, you didn't have to come.
Faye: It was either this or going home. And I have nothing to do at home. Come on. I wanna go check out that game store.
Faye headed inside while you and Normie watched. You looked at each other and shrugged. You both then headed inside.
The New
Spider-ManFaye: This place smells like cheaply made products and cheap labor.
Normie: You're fun to be around, you know that?
The three of you walked through the mall. It was fairly packed with people but not enough to make it feel cramped.
You and Normie eventually caught up to Faye who was already walking into the game store. Inside was the usual crowd. A bunch of dudes with nothing better to do.
Normie: You know, you could just buy games digitally.
Faye: I refuse to give into online shopping.
Y/N: So, do you hate capitalism or not? I'm kinda confused.
Faye just stuck her tounge out at you and started browsing the games. You and Normie headed over to the back of the store where the accessories were in order to look for a new controller.
You broke yours.
Long story.
Normie: So, you tired of being Spider-Man yet?
You shrugged.
Y/N: Not really. It's super fun and like helping people. But, I'm not Spider-Man.
Normie: Right. We never came up with a name. Guess we're gonna have to brainstorm later.
You nodded. You peeked over your shoulder over to Faye. You felt bad about keeping this a secret from her. She was your best friend. Well, one of your best friends.
You felt like you should tell her.
But you also didn't want her to be involved in this. For her own safety.
Normie: You got that look on your face. The one where you're thinking about something way too hard.
You turned to Normie. You wondered if you should talk to him about this, but you decided against it.
Y/N: Just thinking about Horizon, still.
Normie playfully punched your arm with a smirk.
