You sat on the couch back at the hideout with your "team" as you all thought about where this discussion would head. It was now Friday afternoon, and it was time to talk.

You had healed a bit better now, but there were still some bruises here and there. And, just like Normie said, your body had evolved even more. Your bones felt stronger somehow. Your muscles grew more.

But it still wouldn't be enough for you to face Miles.

Mayday: So, what's gonna happen?

Faye: What can happen, is a better question. I mean, that was Spider-Man who beat up Y/N. Who knows what the other heroes are like. Or we can really trust.

Normie: Mama MJ said that there were people out there who could help Y/N. True heroes. But she won't tell us anything until Y/N is completely healed.

The three looked at you. Yep. Three. Torunn was left out of all this until you could all be sure that she wasn't the same as Miles. Or anyone, really.

You figured you could trust Morgan, at least. She didn't follow in her father's footsteps and she refused a place on the Avengers in training. Plus, Henry said that she didn't even like talking to them.

Y/N: It shouldn't be much longer. Actually, I honestly feel like I can start swinging around again.

Normie: But you should still keep a low profile. Who knows what will happen if someone finds out you're back on the streets again?

He had a point. You wanted to avoid any confrontation until you were back to fighting shape.

Faye: Oh, but I did some more research.

You all looked at her as she brought out her phone. She held it up for you all to see. It was an old news article.

Mayday: What is this? What are the "Champions"?

You looked at the photo and your eyes grew wide. That was Miles. And Riri. And Nova.

Y/N: This is....

Normie: Miles' old team. I don't even recognize some of these people.

That was true. There were some faces you didn't even know. And that said a lot. You knew almost every hero there was. Even the ones long gone.

Faye: Turns out, those faces you didn't recognize are all dead. Or retired. Mostly dead.

She scrolled down and you saw that a list of names that were lost in the Attack.

And it was long.

Normie: Power Man? Snowguard? Viv? I don't know any of these people. Who the heck is Ms. Marvel?

Ms. Marvel? You actually did know that name. She remained a hero for a few years after the Attack, but she just upped and dissapered one day. The public figured she had died, and the Avengers never made an official statement on the matter.

Faye: Miles said that things changed after the Attack.

Y/N: That the old rules didn't work anymore. That was his reason for being so ruthless.

You rubbed your chin. Miles had to watch his friends die. All while he was just a kid. Not just that, but the people he saw as mentor.

That included your father.

Normie: I understand why he thinks like that. But this isn't right. No hero should be playing judge, jury, and executioner. Especially now that we know what's really going on.

Mayday: The invasions being stopped. The big groups being dealt with. It all makes sense.

You lowered your head.
