You stared at the whiteboard with a blank expression. Your hair had grown a longer and you had bags under your eyes. You haven't even put on your webshooters since Mayday sacrificed herself. You felt hollow. Like a piece of you was missing.
Why did it feel like the world was just beating you down? First everything with the V-252 then with Morgan and now Mayday was MIA. Maybe even dead. And even if you wanted to go back to being Spider-Man, you didn't even have a costume.
Yours was all but destroyed, once again adding a mark to your costume kill count. Golden Chainsaw goes to your life.
Normie looked over to you and frowned. He was feeling pretty beat up over Mayday too. Especially after their last conversation. He had kept himself busy with his upgrades to his suit. Still, he couldn't shake it off forever. It was creeping up his skin.
He and Faye shared a look before looking back to you.
The
New
Spider-ManYou sat with your back against the window still, looking at the streets below. Your room wasn't as messy as it normally would be. Mayday had cleaned it before........you haven't touched anything in a while. Your experiments and inventions were all but abandoned.
You couldn't find the motivation to do anything. You saved the day, sure, but Mayday was gone. Your sister was gone.
You sighed before you got up and walked out of your room and into the main apartment. Your mom was still at work, so you were home alone. Not that it mattered.
You opened the fridge and looked inside for something to eat, but stopped when you heard a knock at your door. You groaned and closed the fridge before walling over to it. You didn't even check to see who it was, plus your spider sense wasn't tingling.
So you just opened the door. Standing there was Miles. The guy who absolutely whooped your behind into the next week. The same guy who told you that being a hero wasn't what it might have seemed.
Still, your senses didn't go off.
Miles: Hey. You doing alright?
You just stared at him. You then started to close the door, but he stopped it with his foot. You opened the door again.
Y/N: What do you want?
Miles: Can I come in?
Y/N: So you can beat me up again?
Miles: Y/N...
Y/N: I don't want to hear it.
Miles: I was wrong.
You stopped and looked at him. He fiddled with the strap of the bag he was holding before he nodded.
Miles: I was wrong. You proved me wrong. So, I want to apologize.
You eyed him suspiciously. You finally opened the door and allowed him inside. Miles entered the apartment and set the bag down before taking a seat on the couch. You chose to lean against the wall instead. Just in case.
Miles rubbed his hands together before he sighed.
Miles: I'm sorry about your sister. I know it's not easy losing people you care about.
