**Gulf's POV**
Who knew I would be this close to everything I ever wished for. To help explain a little more I would have to explain how things tend to work since I could remember. When a person is born they are left with a soullace which is basically a necklace that only connects to the person you were pre-destined to be with.
As you grow up all you can think about or talk about is who you could possibly connect to. Which is why dating isn't actually a thing known around here. If someone was found dating with someone that didn't connect to their soullace than it was known as taboo and you were shamed from your family and friends.
All through my years of schooling I would watch people find there soulmates and with each passing year it made me discouraged because I wasn't able to find mine. This went on until my junior year of high school when I accidently bumped into this shy kid named Prem that always had books in his hands. He was nerdy and quiet but kind.
He seemed so plain and I didn't understand the attachment until a few more years passed by. As time went on we grew closer and couldn't deny the bond that we shared. There is a reason the soullace is law and I grew to learn why after meeting him.
The first two years was us slowly growing closer together as friends and than we started dating. After another 4 years we moved in together and now its been a little over 3 years since we've done so.
This year will mark the 10th year anniversary of our relationship since we connected and I plan on proposing on our anniversary in a few months. Of course he has no idea of my plans and I want to keep it that way. The only one's aware of my plans are our close friends Santa and Earth.
Prem met Earth at the library when he was researching for different food recipes since he is a chef in training and than I met Santa at the hair salon where I work when he came in for a new look since he is a well known model. Prem and I introduced them to each other around 2 years ago and as soon as they got close enough to hand shake their soullace connected. Since then they've been inseparable.
Now we all hang out together and have dinner parties when everyone is free at the same time, it's not very often since we are busy with work but it's usually 3 or 4 times a month.
Prem: He was running around the living room looking for his work ID as I try to cook breakfast. "Gulf do you know where I left my ID last night?"
Gulf: Glancing around the room I spot it in the same spot it always is after I find it and put it away when he falls asleep each night before chuckling. "It's hanging on the wall just like it was yesterday."
Prem: He turns toward the wall with a look of relief before grabbing it and coming over to me. "Thank you, I don't understand why I tend to loose my things so easily."
Gulf: "Well it's a good thing I'm fantastic at finding things now isn't it?"
Prem: He hops onto the counter and looks over at the pan I was using to cook. "True, what's for breakfast today?"
Gulf: "Toast, eggs and some bacon. Sound good?"
Prem: He nods slowly before resting his head against the cabinet behind him. "Anything sounds good right now, I am exhausted. Every day is more hectic than the last since it's midterms week for all the schools around us which means there are more and more students coming in to check out and borrow books from the library. As soon as I get there it's one book after another and it has almost gotten to the point to where I could probably put these books away with my eyes closed."
Gulf: I let out a sigh as I rub the tip of his nose with my finger. "You still love your job though."
Prem: He looks down at his feet as he begins to swing them back and forth. "I do but it get's really tiring during certain times of the year."
