I'm exhausted, planning this entire surprise thing for Mew took more out of me than I thought it was going to and now I just want to lay in bed and eat ice cream. Lee is currently in the shower so I need to wait before I can start our show or he just might kill me.
Just a tiny bit.
I was laying on my stomach flipping through my phone trying to stay awake when I hear the shower turn off and than the sound of foot steps.
Lee: He walks out of the bathroom in his robe with a grin. "Can I grab the ice cream now?"
Becky: I just roll my eyes as I try not to laugh before sitting back up to lay against the back of the bed rest. "Sure go ahead. Just be sure to grab mine too."
Lee: "You got it."
Becky: It only took him seconds to head to the kitchen and grab our ice cream before handing mine to me. "Thank you."
Lee: He was nodding slowly. "Your welcome."

Becky: I was in the middle of taking a bite when I catch him just staring at me. "What?"
Lee: He lets out a small sigh before coming over to me to sit on the bed. "Are you really not going to tell him?"
Becky: "Who?"
Lee: "Mew? Your Brother?"
Becky: "Oh..." Setting down my spoon I look up at the ceiling with a sigh. "No I don't think so. He doesn't need to know what our mother did, the little memories he has left of her is enough and he's happy now. There's no point to bring up the past to make him sad."
Lee: "Yea but didn't you say that he thinks he's the only one left of his family except for his aunt and cousins?"
Becky: "I did, our family died a long time ago. Taking care of him from a distance is enough for me. I just want him happy, that's all I've ever wanted for him..."
Lee: "Are you sure?"
Becky: I give him a small smile before patting his leg. "I'm sure, you don't have to worry about me. Everything is okay, it took us a long time to get to where we are and I can finally relax. Let's just be happy now."
Lee: "If your happy I'm happy."
Becky: I just roll my eyes as I point at his ice cream. "Your just happy about having ice cream. If the entire world ended and you had ice cream you would be happy."
Lee: He raises a brow before laying down in my lap as our soullace clink together. "Your not wrong."
Shaking my head I turn off the lights and press play on the Tv but every time I tried to focus on what we were watching I couldn't stop thinking about what we were talking about.
Mew is my half brother, I was 5 when our mother found her soul bound partner and ended up having Mew which is why I was stuck with the soul bound mark and he wasn't.
As far as father told me, they fell in love when they met in a coffee shop in there 20's. They didn't have the soullace connection but they had love and they were content with there love.
When her parents found out about her relationship and me they made a deal with her saying that they wouldn't turn her in if she went with society and found her soullace partner.
It took her 5 years to find her partner and as I was growing up I wondered why she stopped coming home, why she stopped calling me and eventually I stopped seeing her. I can't personally remember much anymore but I was almost 6 when she got into an accident.
I wasn't aloud to go to her funeral or see the other half of my family. After I turned 18 father reminded me about Mew's existence and I went to find him. At first I wanted to blame him for taking my mother from me but than I met him by chance when he had no idea who I was and he was only a defenseless 13 year old who got picked on at school.
So I changed my perspective and decided that I would spend the rest of my life protecting what our mother left behind. I'm old enough now to know that she didn't want to leave me but was forced to and it had nothing to do with Mew.
He's just as much of a victim as I was...
So I worked like a crazy person for 3 years and saved every penny I could before buying my café in the route of his school just for the slight chance that he would come in one day on the way home from classes.
I kept my distance the best I could when he finally showed up with his best friend and it became a routine to stop by during the study seasons at school but once he graduated he left for a few years to work and in a blink of an eye over 13 years went by before I saw him again.
That's when Santa stopped by to ask if there was a job opening because he wanted Mew to come home. So I gave him the job without even thinking about it and Mew started working here which is when I was able to help him find himself.
He's no longer lonely or sad anymore, he can see his future and I see him smile every 10 minutes.
I think mom would be happy to know that both of her children are doing really well now.
Were both really happy which means she didn't give up her happiness with my father for nothing.
It's okay now, everything is as it should be...
I didn't realize I had been crying until Lee reached up to wipe my cheek with the back of his hand with a small reassuring smile. He knows that I tend to get lost in my thoughts sometimes so he doesn't bother asking me whats wrong anymore. He just stays by my side and takes care of me.
I worked hard and went through a lot to be where I am now and I am proud of every second of it
Family means everything to me and it always will...
