"You're thinking the wrong way, Liam," I spoke and began to walk again but he didn't budge one bit from where he stood.
"What was I thinking, Ascella? Why are you so certain that my thoughts were erroneous?" he asked.
I stopped walking and faced him, his eyes were focused on my eyes and his mind tried to travel around mine. "Can we just stop talking about these things? It's pointless!"
"Pointless? Maybe, for you. It's a big matter for me, unlike you, you have no concern regarding the people around you." Liam uttered with rage surrounding his eyes and pique filling his words.
My eyebrows furrowed as soon as my ears received the words from his mouth. I scoffed and looked at him in the eye, he seemed regretful. "Right! You really do know me,"
I gave him a sarcastic smile and made my way out. I left him standing alone and managed my way to my chamber. As soon as I reached it, I tried to soak myself in warm water to ease my mind. Many things happened today, most of it wasn't worth remembering. Everyone around me seemed to be angry and mad.
The water caressed my skin as it flowed down, I leaned on the wall allowing the water from the bathing pipe to wipe me clean. I kept on thinking about how this day went on a storm after starting it with the sun. I carefully scoured the scrub into my skin and thoroughly cleaned myself with it, it was refreshing yet the trouble on my mind continued to ruin the very comfortable feeling.
I wore my usual outfit, mixed brownish-black leather pants, dark bottle-green long-sleeved loose shirt, a black leather thin vest, and a belt that wrapped my waist. I braided the sides of my hair and let the others loose. I also slipped in my wrist guard and put on my boots. I felt upset last night when I noticed my mother's necklace was missing, I looked everywhere inside my room but I still couldn't find it. I should ask the servants once I get back.
"Jill?"
I heard a knock on my door and decided to open it to see who it was. It was one of the main hall guards. "The Chief awaits your presence at the hall,"
"Understood, you may go," I nodded and ordered him to go back to his station.
I locked my room and started to make my way towards the hall. When I reached it, the guards pushed the big doors for me to enter. There I saw the Chief sitting on her chair, Kali and Gizem were facing him as they stood in front of Her Grace. Liam was present too, he was standing beside Kali.
I moved and walked towards them and stood beside Gizem. The Chief also stood on her feet when she saw me already in my place to listen. The servants bought a map stand, the Chief unrolled a large piece of thick paper and hang it on the stand.
"Liam, Jill," the Chief started.
"Survivors were said to be found at the place where you resided from when you were both young."
My brows grooved when I hinted at something weird and questionable. "W-wait, 'survivors' you say?" I asked.
