"Hiyah!" I uttered as Clara began to ran faster, the breeze was stronger compared to the ones we had in Gleymt.
When I was about to accelerate even faster, three horsemen suddenly passed through my path. "Woah!" I pulled Clara's leash and it made her stop.
From a distance, I looked at them go. One man was holding a sack in his lap and the other two only had themselves. I didn't seem familiar with them since their faces were covered in black masks but one thing's for sure. They're going towards the southeast border.
"Let's go, Clara." There was no other destination aside from the border if you come this way. This leads to the mountains or the river if you cross the opposite side.
After riding for a few hours, I caught a vision of the river that was between two mountains. I roamed around while I was still on Clara's back, the Pine trees were tall and big, they surrounded the place mostly and the cold whistle of wind punched my skin.
While I was looking around, I heard a scream. I'm sure it came from a kid. I tried to find where it came from, began to follow the voice but when I lost track I found myself lost in the forest. "Where are you?"
Something suddenly caught my nose. It was the smell of something burning. I jumped out of Clara's back and climbed on one of the trees but before I could reach the top, I saw the smoke rising to the air. I immediately went down and rode on Clara's back and went to where the smoke was.
"Stay here." I told my horse after tying her to a tree. My boots were covered in snow when I began to walk on the ground filled with snow.
I grabbed my bow and attached an arrow to it. I slowly went to the area where I found the horsemen. They burned some firewood while the other man was sharpening his sword. I put on the hood of my coat since I don't want them to know who I am.
I hid behind a tree and watched them make their move. I gasped when I saw the other man walk towards the sack and when he opened it, something drove to my spinal cord that made me shiver. "James,"
I was right. They were going to kill him in this place. The man held a syringe and was about to inject something into James. I had to distract him, I pulled the noose off my bow and released the arrow which was going straight to the horseman who was sharpening his sword.
"Ah!" it hit his shoulder and it alarmed the man who was near James. Now their attention was no longer into him. "Who's there?!"
I turned around and leaned on the tree, I breathed hard and closed my eyes before grabbing another arrow from my stack. "Wish me luck."
Within a vast second, I showed up. Released the arrow and it hit the other man's chest. "Sir!"
I began to shoot again and it hit the other guy in his neck. It killed him immediately, there's only one man left. He unleashed his sword and tried to put on a show. I saw James waking up, he was regaining his consciousness and when he saw me, he shouted. "Jill!"
