My heart pounded so fast, afraid that Kali may suspect or even worst determine my ability to control certain elements. She walked in my direction, obviously fuming and mad. Her footsteps were heavier than usual and her pace was faster than before. She stopped after taking a few steps, she now stood in front of me, an inch has been made from us making the both of us apart.
"You, what the hell do you think you were doing?!" her words made my heart beat so much faster. I can't answer and no words were flashed inside my brain.
"I..." I stuttered, feeling the uneasy point of being revealed.
Josh walked beside Kali and asked. "What's happening here, Aunt Kali? Is something wrong?"
"I just can't believe what this young lady did!" she yelled which made me close my eyes and hold my chest for a minute. "She completely saw the traitor, unleashing his sword towards your mother and she stood there like a statue doing absolutely nothing! Is that how a troop should behave?! Is that how a mere peasant act in front of danger itself?!"
My mind blew all its hues away when I heard Kali announce her concern. I sighed deeply after confirming that I was safe from being revealed. Inside, I smiled my heart out but I remained a gentle and innocent gesture outside. I licked my lips first before speaking.
"I-I'm sorry, Kali, it was not my intention to let the traitor do his move, I was j-just," I acted confused and stuttering to make my point more convincing.
But before I could continue, Josh cut me off and answered in my place. "She's probably scared at that time, that's why she froze and was blocked mentally," he looked at me after speaking and raised a bow.
"Right, h-he's right, I'm sorry. I put the blame on myself," I continued.
"Scared?! You?! Fiction! Of all people in this room, I never assumed you'd get afraid of those people! I am not convinced at all! But securing the Chief's safety will let that thought through as I find justifying my point and yours will not lead this treachery to an end." Kali uttered, I can't believe she let an issue swift by.
"Are you alright, Jill?" the Chief asked, she was standing at the elevated platform in front of us.
"Yes, Your Grace," I answered shortly.
The Chief commanded the guards to take the bodies of the enemies including the parents to the battle site. Liam was told to check the children along with the other guards, I was planning on talking to the Chief about the missing children but Kali and Josh were still talking to her. Gizem was slowly approaching me while holding her staff.
"What's wrong with your eye, young lady?"
I freaked out when Gizem asked me regarding my eyes, I didn't even expect her to ask. But what frightened me was her question. "U-Uh, why? Is there something wrong with it?"
"Hmm, it's a bit odd, are you feeling ill?" she continued to ask and I stuttered with my words.
