"Move silently." I whispered and immediately received the soldiers' responses. I led the pack while holding my bow in my hand.
Josh was behind me as well as Liam. While we make sure that we're not noticed, our lookouts began to climb to their posts in the trees. Slowly, I squinted my eyes and got a clear vision of what was ahead of us.
The soldiers of the Capital were having their meals for the night. Torches were lit and the back gate was fully secured. Now that we were only a couple of steps outside their camp, I decided to start the entrance scout.
With the snap of my fingers, the torches were lit off and it alarmed the Capital's troops. "Sir!"
"What happened? Light the torches!" the big man who seemed to be their Captain commanded.
When they began to light the torches, I decided to make the second step. I looked for Josh and saw that he was in the center of the crowd. I was assuming that their number was equal to ours but I think I'm wrong, there were a lot more than I expected.
"Stay here. I'll try to distract them. Once the barricades are out, that's your cue." I told Liam but he doesn't seem interested in my plan.
"No! You can't go there alone." he insisted and stopped me from walking away.
"Then will you volunteer and scatter them into groups?" I asked with a hushed tone and awaited his response but there was none. "No? Then, let me go."
I removed Liam's hand off of my wrist and went on with my move. I ran while trying to make sure I was producing no sound with every step I take. The cement wall was high for me to climb but I thought of an absurd idea.
I was thinking of jumping my way on top of it. "Well, let's give it a shot."
One, two, and three steps backward. I marked my ground, breathed deep, and ran towards the wall. With the elevated step from my left foot, I jumped high and prayed for the best. "Ah."
I did it. I smiled shortly after realizing my small success. I was in a black motif so it will be impossible for them to easily take sight of me. I looked at the view in front of me and it was like a hill full of ants.
I took a bow from my stack and attached it to my bow. After marking my target, I pulled the string and released the arrow after setting it on fire. "Sire!"
It hit one of the soldiers' tables which automatically gave them panick. "Raid!"
The soldier who was closest to the shot shouted and alarmed everyone in the room but right before they can catch a glimpse of me when they followed where the arrow was from, I already switched places.
"Men! Take your pla-"
I shot the man who was about to make a command, it hit his neck which killed him on the spot. They gasped after seeing their comrade collapse, they quickly looked behind them and saw me at my post. "Kill him!"
