Over the next week Elijah worked on finding something, anything about this mystery person. No matter how hard he tried, or how good he was he couldn't. My arm had pretty much healed, and Cody stayed the same. One second he was kind, and the next we was an ass. Sam was still trying to convince me that we shared a moment that night, but I still think it's stupid. Moment's don't exist, not for me, not anymore.
I checked my texts to see one that read 'Are you going to this or are you on a mission?' . Confused I ignored it, and went through my phone. I was alone in my room, and decided to call her again. I didn't know what I'd do if it didn't go to voicemail.
Ring
Ring
Ring
Ring
"I thought you stopped calling."
Shit, I can't do it.
I hung up quickly, and went downstairs leaving my phone behind. Sam and Elijah were curled up on the couch, and Cody was sitting on the love seat. I plopped down on the armchair, and huffed.
"So, we can't find the top person, how about the person in the agency that's supplying them?"
They all looked at me a little confused.
Of course Cody spoke first, "Who says anyone in the agency is helping?"
I squinted my eyes at him, "You're- you're kidding right?" I looked to the others, "Come on people! This person isn't magically getting in, and then out with weapons and drugs. Someone must notice, so there has to be at least one person inside."
"When'd you figure this out?" Elijah asked.
I threw my head back, "The first day I read the goddamn file!"
It was silent for a few seconds, before Sam spoke up.
"Isn't there a agency party in a few days? Everyone's supposed to be there. We could try and find something then."
I groaned, "Don't get my wrong, that's an amazing plan. I just really fucking hate those parties."
"Why?" They all asked at once.
"It's hours of talking to people I don't care about. Every year I can go, I go with my old friend, and we drink together. I can't even do that now."
"Go with your friend?"
I looked Cody in the eye, "No, drink."
Sam chuckled a little, "Looks like we're going to another party."
I rubbed my temples with a sigh.
"Two parties in two weeks, how fun." To my suprise Elijah groaned.
I kinda thought he'd like them, but I guess I was wrong.
I stood up, "How long until the party?"
Sam pulled out her phone and scrolled around for a moment, "It's tomorrow."
That's what the text was. "That's just great."
I went back to my room so I could respond to the single text.
'I'm a mission, but I'm still going. Alos, when'd you change your number?'
? 'Last week, some weirdo stole my phone.'
'Sounds like a blast. I can't believe I'm being forced to go to this thing without any alcohol.'
? 'Ha, that fucking sucks for you. I can drink all I want.'
'See you tomorrow asshat.'
