When we got back to the house I went straight to my room. I wasn't in the mood for anymore pathetic smiles, and little glances. I was only alone for a few minutes though. Elijah came in my room with a guilty look.

I sighed, "I take it you figured it out?"

He shut the door behind him, and sat next to me with a nod.

"We aren't telling them."

"It's gonna kill you Alora!"

"I know, but that doesn't mean we have to tell them." I looked down of my clothed leg. "How long do you think?"

He rubbed his forehead, "A week, maybe two. Whatever is in your blood, is working fast."

I nodded, "I know, it burns like hell."

He looked up at me, "You can feel it."

"Yeah, it feels like molten lava running through my veins." I stood up, "Can you try and find something to stop it?"

He nodded, "Can I see the gash?"

"Yeah, let me change into shorts."

I went into my bathroom, and did just that. I sat back on the bed, and peeled the gauze away. He made a face, but tried to cover it up. The look made me laugh a little, and then I remembered Chase was dead. It's like I couldn't be happy, my brain wasn't allowing it.

"Jesus Alora. How're you walking on this?"

I shrugged, "Magic, and pain killers."

He shook his head with a small smile, "I'll change the bandage."

"I can-"

"I know you can, but so can I."

I rolled my eyes, and pointed to a drawer in my room. He grabbed the med kit out of it, and patched me back up.

"Why haven't you stitched it up yet?"

I looked down at him, "I can't physically force myself to do it. The skin is too raw right now."

He nodded, "Well, whenever it's not I'll stitch it for you. Again, I know you can do it, but it'll be better if I do."

I didn't fight him at all. He finished up my leg, and washed his hands in my bathroom.

"You sure you don't want to tell them?"

"I don't see a point."

He nodded again, and leaned against the wall. "Wanna talk about it?"

I shook my head, "I just feel bad. It's been years since I spoke to Chase, and when I finally do he dies."

"It's not your fault, it's your brothers." He took a second to consider his next words, "You said you loved him?"

I looked up at him with a small smile, "We dated for a long time, and didn't end on very good terms. It was my problem though, shit happened and I ran away. He kept trying with me, and I kept trying to act like I didn't still care about him."

"But you did?"

I gave him a small nod. "I'm grieving, and want burgers."

I faked a smile, and walked out of my room with him close behind. Sam, and Cody were having a heated conversation when we walked down. Only, when I came into view they both shut up. I grabbed my phone off the counter with an eye roll.

"Real conspicuous, I wonder what you were talking about."

I looked up fast food places, and started an oder. "Anyone want burgers for lunch?"

They all nodded, and put their orders in my phone. I grabbed my jaket once everything was payed for, and got ready to leave.

"I'm gonna go grab the food."

Elijah ran up to me, "Like hell you are."

He snatched the keys from me hand, and slipped away before I could protest. I groaned, and mumbled about how stupid he was. I went back into the kitchen and noticed both the remaining members were watching me like hawks. I leaned against the kitchen island, and looked at them.

"Am I in trouble?"

"You lied again." Cody seethed.

I did? "I did?"

I furrowed my brows, and limped over to them. The extra sting of rubbing alcohol made my walking worse.

Sam sighed while rubbing her temple, "There's no way Billie is his wife. Elijah found her, she had three kids and is a school teacher. I doubt she even knows the agency exists."

I sat down and chuckled a little, "She doesn't. She doesn't know Hunter just murdered someone because he got mad. She doesn't know shit about shit. Yes she has three adorable boys, who I have a great relationship with. I didn't want to bring her into this, because she doesn't know about it. He keeps her away from everything."

My phone started ringing, and I picked it up without checking the number.

"I'm so sorry."

My face fell, and I hatred, pure hatred rushed through me. "You're sorry?"

"If you would've just listened we wouldn't be here right now Alora."

"If I would've listened, what about you?! You didn't have to murder him!" I stood up with force, "You're a bastard, and I'm going to kill you!"

He chuckled a little, "We both know you won't do that to Billie, or Asher, or Frank."

"I WILL!" I lowered my voice quickly, "I don't give a shit anymore."

"You'll never see them again."

I shook my head, "I. Don't. Care."

I hung up the phone, and slammed it on the table.

"They live in Iowa." My eyes were cold, and cut off from everything around me.

Cody calmly stood up, "Then why's he here in L.A.?"

"Work." I shrugged. "We can-" I stopped myself, remembering the bugs.

I grabbed my phone, and typed in the notes- We can leave tomorrow.

I showed them my phone, and they just nodded.

"We'll talk to Elijah when he gets back." Cody stayed standing, and looked down to my leg. "You should sit."

"I'm fine."

He sighed, "Did Elijah figure out what it is?"

I nodded my head, something felt wrong about lying to them but I wasn't going to tell either.

"It's a little different than what we have, but he said he'll have a fix in the next week."

Cody nodded, and sat back down.

I guess we're going to Iowa.
