Welp, the California home was wrecked. We ended up staying in one that was a few hours away instead. My leg was killing me, and I knew I didn't have much time left. Elijah hadn't found anything yet, but he thinks he's close... I think I'm gonna die in a few days. Cody wasn't talking to me, but he was talking to Tennessee. That worried me, and not in a jealousy way. In a- They never got along, and she still thinks I'm in love with him- type of way.
One more I woke up to soft knocks on my door. I had 5 days left, and Elijah already tried something on me last night. It wasn't him, or Tennessee because she would've just come right in. I threw on a pair of shorts, and a sports bra before yelling for the person to come in.
Sam.
"Hey." I gave her a small smile.
I was sitting on my bed, and she joined me. "What happened between you and Cody?"
"Stuff."
She sighed, "Please? We're friends, and you can't tell me we're not cause we are. I just want to know."
I looked her dead in the eyes, "Then ask Cody."
She shook her head, "Already did, he said it wasn't for him to tell."
Dammit.
"Why do you want to know?"
She broke eye contact, "It seems serious."
"It is, and I don't really want to talk about it. Anything else?"
She shook her head and left me be. Next Elijah walked in.
"Still dead?"
He scowled at me, "Don't say that, I'll find something...."
I sighed, "You still think we should tell them?"
He nodded his head.
"Not yet ok."
Elijah sighed, "Then when Harley?"
I walked over to him, "When you find me a cure."
I patted his shoulder, and walked out. Ten and Cody watched me closely as I got coffee and made eggs.
"If you stare any longer, you're going to strain your eyes." I turned back to them with a stern look.
Ten smirked, "We've got nothing to to do tonight, so I think you and I should catch up."
I put my eggs onto a plate, and sat next to them. "There's nothing to catch up about."
"Yes there is! Marco, the devil reincarnated."
I set my fork down, "It's not nice to talk about Cody like that while he's sitting right next to you."
Cody chuckled a little, and Ten slapped me.
"Please? Just you and I?"
I rolled my eyes, "Fine."
Cody left us alone, as Ten started telling me about the plans she already made.
"First we're going to get new dresses."
"Suit."
He shakes her head, "Dress. Then I made reservations for a fancy restaurants, and when we get back we're making ice cream."
"Whatever you say." I finished my eggs, and we continued talking about nothing important.
When 6 rolled around she declared it was time to go dress shopping. I grabbed my card, and she pulled me to some random store.
"Come on Ten! Why does it have to be a dress?!" I whined as she pushed me into the changing room.
"I haven't seen you in a dress in years!"
I rolled my eyes, and gave her a small fashion show of the dresses she picked for me. I ended up getting a black one that had a fit top, but the bottom flared out to make a small skirt. I also got a pair of black heels, and necklace. Ten claimed she already had plenty of dressed, so we went back to the house. When we got there it was about 7:30 so she told me to get ready. After 30 minutes I came out of my room dressed up. My hair was cascading down my shoulders in soft curls. I had a deep red lip on, and neutral eye makeup. Elijah, and Sam were cuddling on the couch when I walked down. They both looked surprised to see me so dolled up.
"Where's Ten?"
Sam smiled, "She left already."
I scowled, and walked outside. I decided to call an Uber so I didn't have to drive back alone. When I got to the place she had told me I didn't see her anywhere. The place was completely empty, and a waiter came up to me.
"Harley?"
I nodded my head a little confused.
"Follow me!" She smiled, and led me upstairs.
I followed her out to a balcony where Cody sat at a table. When he saw me, he shot up, and pulled my chair out for me. The waiter left us alone, and Cody sat back down.
Sorry for the short chapter! The next one will be out soon, I just want to the date to be seperated from her figuring seeing Cody. Suspense and stuff...
