Sam's POV
I ran over to the boys who watched everything from afar.
"Two men, and Chase Parker had a gun on him."
"Who was the other guy?" Cody questioned while rolling his sleeves up.
"Her brother."
Cody just shook his head while Elijah sighed.
"We need to go help her."
Cody frowned, "Why? We don't even know her."
Elijah helped me out, "She tells us things when we ask, and for the most part they seem to be true. I doubt she's talked to her brother in years or something."
Cody just shook his head, "No! I don't trust her, and therefor I have no reason to get hurt for her!"
"She's a good person Cody." My voice goes stern.
"How would any of us know that?!"
I stomped my foot on the ground, "She's helped me! The other night I needed advice, and she gave it. She gave me honest advice, and told me I could come to her."
They both gave me questioning looks, and I just shrugged.
"I can tell, something bad has happened to her. We need to trust her, so she can learn to trust us."
"Sam's right Code. I did some digging on her, after she went to bed last night. Something didn't sit right with me, so I hacked into some stuff and ran her face." Elijah looked down, "Her dad died for her 9 years ago. She was 20, and it was her first mission. She was going to die, but her dad traded his life for hers."
"And?" I wanted to slap Cody.
Elijah looked back up at him, "She had to kill him."
Three gunshots sounded, and we turned to find the source. Alora was was holding a gun at the ceiling, and firing off shots. Her face was bruised, and her right arm was bleeding. How the hell did she get away from them?
Alora's POV
"Come on Chase. I'm not in the mood today." I threw my head back.
"I thought you didn't work in groups anymore."
"I'm already getting a headache, are you really going to make me hurt myself worse?"
He furrowed his brows. With a swift motion I dislocated my thumb, and slipped my hand out of the tie. While he was trying to understand my words I relocated it, and pulled the tie off my other hand. Two guards were at the door, and probably another two behind it. Chase took a step to me, and looked me over. That's when I stood, and brought I knee to his gut. He toppled over, and the two men came at me. One pulled out a gun, but Chase shut it down.
"You can't shoot. I still need this dance to continue after we deal with her." He groaned, and stayed on the floor.
The man put his gun away, and the other went to punch me. I easily grabbed his fist, and and twisted him around. I forced him to his knees, and held his arm behind his back. The other guys started to come over to my so I pulled out on of my knives, and slid it into the first ones neck. He slumped over, and I let go of him grabbing another knife. While I was fighting number one, two had put a silencer on his gun.
"You've got to be kidding me."
He shot my right arm, and the blade fell from my hand. I grabbed the knife with my left hand, and smirked.
"Ambidextrous."
With a simple flick of my wrist the blade with sticking out of his throat. Now it was Chase's turn. He was smarter than the other two, he didn't give me any time to get another blade. He tackled me to the ground, he got in three solid punches before hesitating. I used that moment to flip us over, get up. Sadly we needed him to stay alive, so I walked to leave the room but my hair was grabbed. Chase pulled me against his chest, and wrapped his elbow around my neck. I had enough freedom to headbut him hard. He let go of my neck, and grabbed his nose.
"Bitch."
I turned to him with an evil smile. When he saw it he immediately paled.
"No, this is being a bitch." I grabbed a knife from the one guys neck and plunged it into Chase's leg.
I pulled the door open only to see no one was there. I walked out, and saw four men watching Sam, Cody, and Elijah. I needed to get their attention on me, so I grabbed a gun from the room before firing three shots into the ceiling. Screams filled the air, and the four turned to me. I made a bolt for the front door, and I saw the others do it too. They were only a little behind me, so I slipped into the car, and started it up. They quickly got in, and I had to keep my right hand off the wheel.
"You shouldn't be driving." There was a certain amount of concern in Cody's voice.
"Shut up." As I told Chase, I was getting a headache.
"I get that you don't like others-"
"Stop. I'm fine. I don't want to be your friend, so don't start worrying about me!"
Out of the corner of my eye I saw him shake his head. "Fine, why'd you kill your dad?"
My grip on the wheel tightened.
Both people in the back scolded him in unison, "CODY!"
"I didn't kill him. He killed himself."
He laughed, "That's not what the mission file says."
I closed my eyes for a quick second, "I don't remember filling them out honestly. But I do remember my dad putting a gun to his head, and telling me it had to be done before shooting himself."
"No!" Tears streamed down my face.
"It has to be this way sweetheart."
"N-no, no it doesn't."
He just smiled at me, "I'm not going to let you die on your first mission. I've served my time at the agency, and I got 20 amazing years with you. It has to be done."
More tears streamed down my face, and I began to shake. I closed my eyes, and wished it didn't have to happen like this.
Bang.
I opened them, and he was dead in front of me. Cheers came from around us.
"Why'd you lie on the report?"
"CODY STOP!" Sam yelled.
"I don't remember ok!" My voice broke, and everyone noticed.
Cody cowered in his seat, and Sam was mumbling stuff under her breath.
The rest of the drive was silent.
