I could only pace around my room, and wait. Every few minutes I text Tennessee, and check the security cameras.

Hey  It's the fifth time I've texted her that in the past half hour.

'I swear on everything holy in this world- stop texting me, or tell me why

Baby brother problems

I forget he's younger than you, what'd he do?

Told me I got three strikes, didn't seem very friendly

Instead of responding she called me.

"So, are you like out now?"

I rolled my eyes, "I don't know. It's stressing me out too, he could be doing anything."

"Just calm down."

"How am I supposed to be calm?! For all I know he's putting a sniper outside so whenever someone leaves their brains are going to be blown out!"

She chuckled a little, "Come on Alora, he's more personal than that."

I pinched the bridge of my nose, "Because that makes me feel so much better."

I started getting another call.

"I gotta go, someone's calling me."

"Ok, be safe."

I hung up, and took the other call.

"Chase?"

"Hey Alora." He sounded... sick.

"What's up? The case isn't over yet, but I'm not gonna bail on our dinner. Have more faith in me." I attempted to joke, but something was wrong.

"About the dinner..." cough, cugh, "I don't think I'm gonna be able to make it." A shit ton more coughing.

"What's going on Chase?" I ran downstairs to find Elijah.

"Nothing, I just wanted to apologize in advance."

I covered the speaker on my phone and spoke to Elijah, "I need you to track the call I'm on."

He nodded, and pulled his laptop without question.

"What the hell is going on Chase? I was excited for once."

He chuckled, but then started coughing again. "I was too, believe me."

"Then why won't you be there?"

He sighed, "I just won't."

I looked over to Elijah who was still typing.

"Come on Parker, I can tell something wrong. Are you sick?"

"Something like that, I wasn't gonna call.... but an interested party thought I should."

My heart fell to my chest, "Is he there?"

"Yes." His voice was quiet.

"Where the hell are you Chase?"

He started coughing more, "I c-can't tell you. I am really sorry though."

"36 Elmore Drive!"

I ran outside, and heard everyone follow me. I barely waited for them to get in the car, before I sped off.

"You can't die now Parker."

A little chuckle, "Why not?"

"I haven't said it yet, you have to stay alive so I can say it one more time."
