The ride home was silent. Instead of answering Cody I flipped him off and started walking out. I called mom, and she said she had Billie tied up. Apparently Billie thought she could take my mom on alone, that obviously didn't go well for her. The boys were still in their room, and had no idea what was going on. When we got back there Elijah cleaned Sam up, and got Ten an ice pack. I started packing up my stuff when Elijah came in the room. He sat on my bed, and didn't look at me.
"How'd you, and Cody know each other?"
I continued stuffing clothes into my bag, "We don't."
"But you did."
I looked over my shoulder for a moment, "When we were younger we knew each other." I shrugged a little, "We were.... close, and then one day I never saw him again. He just disappeared, and I was upset. After I was upset I was stupid."
He sighed, "How were you stupid?"
I set my bag down, and sat on a chair that in the room. "I've known Chase my whole life, but we were always just friends. When Cody left me, I needed someone. Chase happened to be that someone, and we moved quickly. I ended up uh, I ended up getting pregnant. That's when I left him, and basically ran away just like Cody."
"So you have a kid?" He questioned.
I shook my head as tears filled my eyes, "No."
He furrowed his brows, "But you just said......" He trailed off.
I nodded a little, "She was two when it happened.I had her when I was 18."
"She died when your dad did?"
I nodded again. "People are shit, and criminals are shittier."
I hadn't cried in so long, and now here I was with silent tears streaming down my face.
"You don't have to do this, please! She won't even remember!"
He shook his head with a tsk, "Oh, but she could. If she does... that'll be a problem."
"She's only TWO, she won't!"
The man sighed, "Ok you're right, but you didn't listen to me. I don't like people who don't listen."
BANG
"NO!"
When I snapped out of my thoughts Elijah's arms were around me. I started sobbing onto his shoulder, as he just rubbed my back.
"I'm sorry I brought it up." He whispered as I continued crying. "What was her name?"
He pulled away from me with a small smile.
"Alexandria, but I called her Alex a lot."
He chuckled a little, "Your password."
"I can't ever type it, I always use my fingerprint."
He sighed, "If you ever want to talk about it, you can come to me. I'm sorry I've been so rude."
I shook my head, "You had every right to be. I lied to you guys about who I was."
He looked away from me, "How did you survive?"
I chewed on my lower lip for a moment, "I don't know, but not everything in that mission file was true."
He nodded a little, and stood up. "So Billie's helping her husband?"
I wiped my tears, and nodded. "That's how he got Ten, and that's how he knew we were here. She probably knew to be on high alert ever since I said her name, and that's why she called mom." I shook my head a little, "I still don't understand what he got from that though."
Elijah smirked a little, "He made Sam fight Tennessee while someone had a gun to my head. They were testing them I think. Then after that they showed us the security feed of you, and Jeremy. I think Hunter thought you would fight the kid, and we would hate you for not only that, but lying about knowing Cody."
I swallowed hard, "Do you hate me for Cody?"
He shook his head, "No, Sam's still confused though. She joined the academy after they stopped teaching about you three."
I smiled a little, and nodded.
"How closer were you, and Cody?"
I got a small smirk of my own, "Remember yesterday when we were talking about Marco, and how he tried to get with me but couldn't?"
He nodded.
"Well, he couldn't because I was seriously crushing on someone else. And that someone else happened to be crushing on me too." I stood up trying to hold back a small laugh, "He liked me enough to invite me over when his parents weren't home."
Elijah's eyes widened, and he burst out laughing. "Was he your first?!"
I nodded my head, and Elijah only cackled harder. "How'd you not recognize him?"
I rolled my eyes at the question, "When I first met the kid, he was scrawny and had lighter hair. Plus, at the time he had a serious country accent."
"He did?!"
I nodded with a smile, "He's the reason I started using the world y'all."
Elijah continued to laugh, but we left my room. I saw Sam talking to Ten, and when I walked up they both stopped.
"You really need to stop doing that." I looked at Sam with a small smile.
Ten got up, and left us alone.
I sighed, and looked Sam in the eye, "You want to know about the the holy trinity?"
She nodded eagerly. I sat next to her, and started explaining.
"When the original director first started the agency he had these three siblings. They were all top of their class, and only a few years apart."
She nodded her head.
"Well when they all graduated they were put on a team together because of their skills. They went on mission after mission, not once did they lose. They were what everyone wanted to be, but younger. Until one day one of the members went psycho, and killed his sister. The remaining sister couldn't stand him, and got assigned a new team. The brother disappeared, and no one saw him basically ever again."
She sighed with a small frown, "If you never saw him again, why'd you know his family?"
Good question, "One day Billie contacted me, and it was obvious at the time she didn't know who he was. Honestly I don't think she knows the full truth, because Hunter lied to Jeremy about it. Anyway, she called me and I felt bad saying no to meeting up so we did. After that Hunter and I made a deal, we'd stay out of each other's way and there were certain people we could never talk to or touch. Mine were Tennessee, and Chase. His were Billie, and his three boys."
She nodded some more. A look of content sat on her face.
"Just so we're clear, I was never mad you lied."
I shot my eyes to hers, and she just giggled a little.
"I knew it wasn't your name when we met, because I accidently was given the wrong file. It said your name was Annika, but I chose not to say anything."
Wow. I chuckled, and she asked more questions about the original three. Two team members were good with me, now all I had to do was talk to Cody.... or not. He's been an ass, and he kinda left me. Maybe I'll let him stay mad, or maybe I should talk to him. I could ask him why he left. I could do a lot, but for now I will leave with my team. Billie knew, and mom could keep her kids away from her and Hunter.
The only person we had left on his side was Jeremy. He was going to join us, but then Cody opened his damn mouth. All we need is him.
