What Happened? [COMPLETE]

Chapter 25: Walking

I walked down the mainly abandoned streets. I felt the breeze of wind hit my face and I could only feel some sort of calmness when it did. I haven't felt the cold breeze in a long time since I always have my squirrel head on when I go outside. I smile and even  though I am still in the rest of my costume, I felt cold. Maybe it was becuase of the wind or maybe it was becuase of my blood pressure.. I wasn't very sure. I knew one thing though, I had to get to Rhythm Heaven town soon. Red Cheerleader would wake up soon and try to kill me if she woke up. Again, I didn't want to be killed. I am trying my best to survive in this now harsh world. I started to pick up speed and with that, I started to run. As I ran I felt like an animal of some sorts, running away from a predator. I always felt like this when I was running away from something or someone but I would never feel like this when I was just simply running for the purpose of getting to point A to point B. Point A being where I am and point B being me going to the lab. I ran and ran, knowing that if I didn't make it back in time I would get killed. I have stated this many times but I never want to be killed. I wasn't ready just yet. I felt the air hit my face but I didn't mind until my legs started to get tired.. I was getting exhausted from running to much. I knew I had to stop running if I didn't want to run out of breath and strength to do anything but I didn't want to becuase I knew I was just so close to my town. I could just feel it... I started to run faster but with that comes more exhaustion.. I knew that soon collapse if I didn't stop so I did and just walked. Sure, I still felt tired but at least I would get tired slower.. I think. I then started to feel movement from Red Cheerlead. I started to freak out and just began to run forward as quick as possible. As I ran, I saw Rhythm Heaven town coming up close. I knew as soon as I made it into the town I would be able to make it there in time but then I heard a voice that made me drop her to the ground, right in front of the entrance of Rhythm Heaven town.

Red Cheerleader's View:

I felt my body hit the ground of concrete hardly. Opened my eyes slowly and stood up, wondering what was going on. Before I could question anything else I noticed Mr. Squirrel, still without his squirrel head.. He was covering his back and shaking, as if he was scared of me. He was filled with anger and pounced at him, grabbing the nearest thing near me which was a brick. Perfect.. Mr. Squirrel struggled to get away but I didn't let him... He was going to kill me! I raised the brick high and was ready to smash it into his head.. Before I could however he took out a list and showed it to me. I looked at the list.

" List To Save.. "

That is what it was called. The list held many names, even mine. Some names where crossed out with green highlighter while most are crossed out with red highlighter. I looked at Mr. Squirrel and put down the brick. I realized that he was just trying to get me out of this town to be safe. I asked him to explain the list..

" L-let me explain this to you Red Cheerleader.. I made this list after Crop Farmer died and when people where going insane. I marked down many people and ended up making a long list. I would go out and save people from the danger that was each town. People that I though were still sane. When I found out that they where insane however, I would cross out their name with a red highlighter and if they where still sane I would get them out of this town as soon as possible. Once they where out I would cross out their names with green highlighter. As you see, your name is here and once I found out you where sane, I wanted to help you. I know that you wouldn't go down without a fight and that's why I made you fall asleep... I am sorry, I was just trying to help. "

I look at him.

" It is okay Mr. Squirrel. I understand now and I think I can help you with something.. I know some people that are still sane. I have them where I live, the same town as you. I can take you there if you want. "

Mr. Squirrel looks at me and smiles, even though he is covering his face. I grab his arm gently and led him back to my home in Rhythm Heaven town..
