What Happened? [COMPLETE]

Chapter 44: A.B.

The stars shined in the night sky as the fireflies all flew away into the sky. I let out a soft sigh, feeling some sort of warthm near Partner. I might never exactly know why but I guess that is how I am. Partner pat my head, smiling at me. Maybe he felt something similar to what I am feeling.. Just maybe... He soon stood up, starting to walk to the 'exit'. of the place. I close my eyes for a moment or so but soon enough I stood up as well. I walked over to him and in no time we both started to walk threw the forest. Partner walked close to me, soon holding hands. I felt the warmth in my body return when he did.. It was mainly by face though. As we kept on walking threw the forest, I starting to think about Mr. Squirrel. He just kind of disappeared when we encountered Alex. Was he dead? I wouldn't think so but if he was then.. Nobody would really know how to really escape. I kept on thinking until I heard something in the distance. It sounded like someone hitting a ball with some sort of bat. No matter what the noise was though, I wasn't going to go check it out. Last time I almost died and to be honest, that wasn't exactly my first time almost dying due to my curiosity. With that being said, I kept on walking forward, ignoring the noise. The noise kept on going though.. I tried my best to ignore it and soon enough it did stop. I let out a sigh of relief, feeling glad that it did stop. Partner looked at me in slight confusion but at this point I really didn't want to tell him about what just happened. We both kept on walking and soon enough I started to see the 'exit' of the forest. I smiled, knowing that we where going to make it out just fine. It would be nice if we did.. 

Each step on the almost full dirt ground was one step closer. Soon we made it out back into the town. Partner let go and start to just walk around the place for no apparent reason. I couldn't judge him though since that would be rude. I simply just followed him, making sure that he would be okay. After a few moments or so, I decided that it was time we should head back to where See was, the abandoned building. 

"We should get going Partner.."

Partner stopped and nods okay. We both start to walk to the building as the stars shine. As we walk, I started to hear something. It was the same noise I had heard earlier but this time it was louder than usual. With that, I knew something or someone was getting close to us. I kept on walking until I noticed a ball.. A baseball. Round, white, and it looked new. I picked it up and looked at it, just to see if it belonged to someone. 

"A.B."

A.B? What does that mean.. I tilted my head slightly until another one rolled along near me. I picked it up and saw the same thing. A.B. At this point I was confused.. What did this all mean? I kept on looking at these baseballs until I heard something. I looked over and saw Partner with about 6 baseballs near him, all with the same things written. I put down the baseballs I had and grabbed Partner. I knew that this meant something, I just wasn't sure what. Either way, it doesn't matter if I don't know who, we just needed to get out of there. I held Partner close and walked forward..
