What Happened? [COMPLETE]

Chapter 43: Fireflies

Soon I felt Partner rest his head on my shoulder. I looked over and smiles at him, patting his head. He then started to get very close to me and hugged me tightly. I felt my face heat up just a  bit, along with slight warmness in my body.. Partner started to get close until he couldn't get closer but that didn't really stop him. He hugged my tighter, seeming happy. He smiled at me as the sky got darker and darker by the second. I always liked it when Partner smiled.. I don't know why but it always reminded me and everything was going to be fine. It always gave me a warm feeling in my heart as well. It was just nice to see and even now it is still nice, possibly better. I hug Partner back, feeling some sort of happiness. I let out a soft sigh, watching the sky turn dark. Partner reaches over to the basket and grabs 2 apples that look fairly sweet. I look at him in confusion but he didn't seem to notice becuase immediately after he handed me one. I shrugged and took a small bite. The apple tasted very sweet yet, it was balanced between sour and sweet. In summary, it tasted well. I soon started to eat the apple entirely in no time. Once I finished I looked over at Partner and I see that he had been looking at me. I giggle a bit on that and in no time he looks away looking a bit embarrassed. I pat him on the back, trying to make him feel less embarrassed about it. 

"Partner, it's fine! I don't mind, I was just giggling becuase it was a bit weird."

Partner looked back and smiled softly, kind of blushing. I looked up at the sky and as I expected it was now night. I stood up, wanting to try something that I have never tried. I went over to an almost dead tree and shook it. I had always heard that bugs where in the trees. The reason I was shaking it was becuase I wanted to see them for myself. I looked over at Partner and noticed that he was confused. I don't blame him though. I mean, I would be confused if someone just stood up and went to go shake a tree randomly with no exact context. I looked back at the tree, kicking it hardly to let the bugs go. I walked back to Partner, looking at the tree. It didn't take me long to notice that the tree was glowing. I looked at the tree, confused as ever. How was it glowing? I looked over at Partner and saw that he was as confused as I was. Partner stood up next to me, holding my arm. 

"What are you doing?"

Partner just looked at the tree. I let out a sigh and looked at it as well. In no time I realized why he was just looking at it. Fireflies where flyin out of the tree, shining their 'lights'.  I stared in amazement, admiring how wonderful it looked. I sat down and soon Partner did as well. As we both sat down, watching all the fireflies, I felt someone holding my hand slightly.. I looked over and saw Partner. He was looking at me slightly blushing.. I smiled softly and hugged him, feeling my body become warm again. He simply hugged me back and kept looking at the fireflies. As each one of them left into the sky I felt some sort of comfort. Each moment up to this seems worth it.. I moved a bit closer to Partner, soon resting my head on his shoulder as each small firefly flew away.
