The Powerful Duo {A Marvel Story}

Chapter 8

One day later, Pietro gives some Sokivian people stolen things but they don't know that. Wanda and the girls walk around, looking at stuff until they walk past Pietro, who is giving a woman a very sparkly dress.

"Is every girl in Sokovia getting a dress? At least Birdie's looked warm." Wanda snarked and continued walking.

Pietro caught up to Wanda and the two of them started fighting each other while Genevieve and AJ stood to the side just listening to them argue until a woman ran up to a little boy.

"Where did you go?" The woman says, kneeling so the two of them are at eye level. The four enhanced turn to look at the two, as the boy looks at the four of the teens.

"The church. The man says you need to come to the church." The boy passed on the order.

"What man?" Genevieve questions the boy.

"The Iron Man." The boy recalls. The four of the enhanced went from confused to vengeful faces and looked at each other. Preparing themselves for what could happen in that church. The woman and boy walk away and the four teens walk toward the church.

Walking into the run-down church, its dark and creepy aura makes it colder than it already is. "Talk. And if you're wasting our time." Wanda speaks up, noticing someone in a chair with a red patterned blanket over his body, facing the other way.

"Did you know this church is in the exact center of the city?" The man's voice is loud and echoey within the church's walls.

The teenagers walk closer, questioning who the mysterious man is. "The elders decreed it so that everyone could be equally close to god. I like that. The geometry of belief." The man continues.

There's a pause while Wanda just inquisitively stares at the man. "You're wondering why you can't look inside my head." The man speaks up.

"Sometimes it's hard. But sooner or later, every man shows himself." Wanda replies. The man gets up from the chair he was sitting in and the four realize that it is no man they were talking to. A giant robot rises and shows who he is.

"Oh, I'm sure they do." The robot responds to Wanda. The four of them back up from the shock of seeing a robot instead of a man.

"But you needed something more than a man. Thats why you let Stark take the Sceptre." The robot says while stepping down the few steps there were to get to the chair, his steps are loud and shake the ground beneath us.

"I didn't expect. But I saw Starks fear. I knew it would control him. Make him self-destruct." Wanda explains. The other three look at Wanda, finally understanding why she wouldn't let them stop Iron Man from taking the Sceptre.

"Everyone creates the thing they dread. Men of peace create engines of war. Invaders create Avengers. People create... smaller people? Uh..." It tries to explain but in the end, it gets a little confusing.

"Children! I lost the word there." Its voice echoes. "Children. Designed to supplant them, to help them... end." the robot continues.

"Is that why you've come? To end the Avengers?" AJ speaks up.

"I've come to save the world." It raises his robotic voice. "But also... Yeah." The robot ends his sentence.

In case anyone was wondering, the girls are now 16 and 15, AJ being 16 and Genevieve being 15
