AHAANA

I opened the door of the uber already waiting for me to reach the railway station. Though it was a short ride, I was still not able to escape from the thoughts which were now clutching my throat. My hands were shivering, and for a moment, I wanted to run and hide somewhere in the dark, away from everyone's prying eyes.

The uber ride was prepaid, which saved me from any further conversation. I walked straight to the train, and showed my ticket to the TC when asked while arranging myself to take my resonated seat. Needless to say, I felt my throat get dried out because of the unusual feeling rising in my stomach. My brain instructed my eyes to look for some water.

I sat on the seat and traced the pattern on the floor. My hands were shivering, and even after successfully finding the bottle, I was unable to open its cap. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.

My hands ran all over my face, squeezing my eyes and taking in deep breaths. I recited one big speech in my head to calm myself down. My fingers were slowly massaging my forehead, while my mind processed each and every word I said to myself.

I booked four seats in the AC sleeper compartment. Main purpose: be least bothered by human existence as possible.

I stood up from my seat after a few minutes. The train was not moving yet. I kept my suitcase over the seat in front of me.

"Excuse me ma'am?"

I turned around to see the TC standing with a girl. My eyes traced the panic on his face and I moved my eyes quickly to realize that it has now spread to my face also.

"Ma'am, actually there is some problem with the seating plan." If you ever needed a life example for the worst case scenario, here is this for you. Thank me later.

Are they going to throw me out?

Are you insane? You have already paid for the tickets, also, law is still alive, at least in the novels.

"Ma'am, this young lady and your seats were mistakenly registered as one single seat in our computer." He wiped sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief, tightly trapped in his palm.

That mean?

"Can you please adjust and share? The seat? We'll work on the refund." He bowed once and stood still.

"What do you mean by, please share? I've also paid for my seat!" The girl who was standing beside him with a backpack hanging around her shoulder interrupted him in between. She was wearing dark lipstick, and her attire was all black.

"Ma'am-" the ticket collector licked his lower lip in tension, his eyebrows forming a U-shape and by seeing him, anyone could easily tell that he could cry at any moment.

"It's fine." I smiled sheepishly and stepped backwards to give some space.

I thought the girl for whom he was asking the favor would say something for herself, but she looked stunned. Her black eyes were wide open when she saw me. She was staring at me like I'd stolen something from her. 'Does she know me?'
