MITANSH

Just a little confirmation, just a moment of time which could change the rest of the scenario. Is Maahir really Mehul? And if yes, then he is the only answer I need. This is enough, a peak of everything I could focus on... and, this needs to end! Ahaana is at the point of her life, where she is revisiting all the dark memories she was hiding within her. She needs closure. And Mehul is her closure. 'He's fine, he's alive, he's healthy and he has worked on himself! A successful published writer, a dream which Mehul shared with Ahaana and has achieved. He has done everything that he could do!' All she needs is to see him, to hear him say all the things, to make her realize that it was never her fault!

Ugh, Mitansh! Do we have to do this? I can't stay here! I want to see Ahaana, I want to be with her!

Shhhh! Understand, focus! When she opens her eyes and looks at you, do you want her to remember all those things which she is scared to even think of? No, right? Then I need to call Maahir! I need an answer, I need confirmation. It's better for both of them.

Are you sure? Are you sure that it will not turn worse? Are you sure that it's better for both of them, are you-

"Hello, Maahir?" I was lying on the ground facing the sky. I plucked the grass and threw it in the air.

"Hey bhai."

"I called you to ask..... how's your story going on?" I had nothing prepared in my mind on how to start the conversation about the thing I actually wanted to ask. So I started the small talk with the first thing which came to my mind.

"Wait, are you really Mitansh?"

"Yes. Why?"

"Because you're never interested in knowing anything about my books." The happy energy was overflowing from his voice.

"Okay, so another surprise is coming your way. I read your first series and-"

"Dudeeee, you're definitely not Mitansh! Who are you and what did you do to my brother?"

"Don't sound like I've never cared for you! It's just, literature was never my preference...ughhh ...." I made a face. After Ahaana told me that she really like Maahir's poetic skills and finds a sense of intensity in them, I thought, why not I give it a try? Honestly, his poems were pretty high level for me, so I decided to read his novels first.

"Thankyou."

"I didn't see that coming." Actually I did.

I heard him chuckle, "It'll be odd to say, but my main motivation to work hard and improve my skills was to write a book which you would choose on your own and read. I always wished for that day. Never thought that it'll come this fast."

"Seriously, you were THAT eager for me to read? Maahir, even if I read, or not, I'll always appreciate your hard work. Your motivation should never linger around someone who doesn't like literature, it's like asking an atheist to read a bible, it'll just disappoint you in the end."

"But you did read it. That's enough for me. Thank you."

"Okay-okay, but I won't accept your 'thankyou'. I really enjoyed the book, so the pleasure was mine!"
