MITANSH
"I received a love letter from my girlfriend." I smirked while flipping the envelope from the free hand. I was really curious to know what she might have written there. A first hand written letter. Fishes, why am I so excited?
"Oh, the delivery service was pretty fast!" Pretty fast?....I didn't expect the reply to be like this. I thought her reply would be, "Umm, yeah- I- ya..." where did the girl who was shy, hesitant and nervous go?
"Now, I'm stuck between reading this letter or focusing back on the launch." I drew an imaginary line on the ground with the tip of my shoe.
"As per the best advice giver, you should focus on the thing which is more important for the present situation! You got the letter, you got the time..."
"I know, I know, FOCUS ON THE LAUNCH!" I tightened my grip over the letter and wiped my forehead with the back of my thumb. My eyes on their own rolled while I completed her sentence.
"Good boyfriend!" I chuckled at her random use of 'boyfriend' in her sentence. She seemed happy, and I was relieved that her nervousness is not kicking in because of the award show yet.
"Are you Mitansh- Oh yes, he is Mitansh Arora- Sir-sir..." A man with average height, dark hair and a light stubble, accompanied by a tall man with a black cap walked towards me. Did they actually call my name? But how do they know my name?
"Guys- guys, I'm talking to someone important on the phone, can you keep it low?" They definitely came to talk to me. It was pretty clear, as they stood next to me and continued talking to each other. Their attire looks pretty formal, maybe they are our guests for the launch and that's how they know my name...
"Please sir, just for a minute. I want to thank you for creating An-EXIT-" Are they applicants of our Beta testing programme? I do remember, before the launch date was revealed, we planned to host a Beta testing programme for An-EXIT. Though because of these sudden changes in events, the four week case lasted for only two weeks.
"Guys, I appreciate it, but not right now!" I gave them a 'please' smile and turned around in the opposite direction.
"It has changed my life, I'm your big fan-" Why the hell are they making a scene? I understand, they are An-EXIT's fans and wanted to thank the creator, but what's this way of thanking someone? I don't get it? Can't they just stop barging in my privacy and take a hint?
"Mitansh listen!" I was about to say something to those morons, but Ahaana spoke up.
"Yes, Ahaana." I gave those fuckers a death glare while focusing on Ahaana's words.
"I think you should attend to your fans! This is your day." WHAT? FANS? Why is she saying this? UGH!
"But we were talking-"
"It's totally fine. I'll be there at the launch after my nomination is over, then we can talk in person." The intense urge to punch that stubble guy right in his nose fired me up. How come this very special moment got ruined within seconds?
"Okay! Good luck. I know you'll do your best." I gulped in and tried my best to not reflect the anger in my tone.
"Yes, and you too! You got a good control over it, so don't tense! Now go go, your fans are waiting." FANS! Why is this word piercing my heart?
"Fans, right. Okay, bbye. I love you." I looked back again at the envelope in my hand.
"I love you, Mitansh!" I smiled to myself and it turned into a blank expression when I saw those morons faces. I hung up the call and slid my phone with the envelope in my blazer's inner pocket.
