INAYAT
2014 (2 YEARS BACK)
'The first day of college!' my throat went dry as I said these words in my head. I was standing at the main entrance of our University. I took a step forward to get close to the entrance of my college. 'Bombay University, Mumbai' was clearly written on the board, which was fixed on top of the entrance gate.
I was standing there feeling like the main character of my story in complete black attire. I wore a loose graphic tee, with the words 'Colourless Rainbow' printed in white and a design of faded rainbow under it, which looked perfect on me. Like always, my hair was pulled down, and I was wearing skull shaped earrings. 'Super cool' I screamed in my head.
"Oh GOD!" I fell straight on the path. Did someone push me? I looked back and my eyes caught a guy rolled up in sand. Okay, Inayat Sehgal, you very well know your amazing judo skills. This stick-man looking guy won't be able to flip a hair of yours. Wait wait wait, why is he standing so fast? Good lord, he is walking towards me, God help! I covered my face with my arms.
"Umm, I'm sorry." I peeped through the gap between my both arms and saw a hand open in front of me. "I hope you didn't get hurt." I took his hand like my system was on auto mode.
"No no, it's all fine." My knuckles were bruised and I felt a jerk around my spine area while standing up. SHIT!
He looked at my hand and before he could say any further, I spoke, "I'm getting late. Thankyou for the help." Run, Inayat, in the name of lord, RUN!
'What a start!' I muttered to myself, still running like a bunch of dogs were chasing after me.
After a few hours, when I was done with running, I meant roaming around, I went to the canteen. The canteen was unexpectedly huge. Like in the movies, it looked colorful. The seats were in primary colors and tables were all white. As it was an open canteen, they covered the roof with the club's flags on which the logo of each club was individually printed, tied up with a string in systematic order. Everyone looked so happy and energetic, giving a really enthusiastic vibe. I stepped inside the canteen to place my order, but got interrupted by a husky voice before I could manage to reach the counter.
"Hey, black top!" I whipped my head to look at the three boys, I guess seniors, who were sitting at the very first table, which was placed almost outside the canteen.
"Department?" The same person asked.
"Electric and communications.." I replied confidently. 'Be strong Inayat, they are just a bunch of morons!'
"Wow!" Huh? What type of reaction was that? "I never thought that I would be blessed to see such a pretty girl studying engineering!" The guy sitting on the right side of the husky moron spoke. A creepy smile glued to his face.
"Excuse-"
"Yes, you're so right dude! I was actually lost in her beauty. Seriously, what a style, I even failed to listen to her angelic voice due to the dominance of the beauty on her face!" The guy on the left said, doing the high-five with the right guy. What in the name of Facebook poetry-
"Can you repeat, whatever you said? Pleaaasee-" The guy on the left said, laughing at his own words.
"Stop it guys! She's so innocent. Stop bullying her." The guy in the middle, the husky moron, spoke.
"Looks like someone is going to make a move!" Both the guys from respective sides said in unison.
"You people!" The Husky moron threw his hands in the air, standing up from his chair. He walked close to me, his dark brown neck-length curly hair swaying in the air. He was wearing a long black coloured graphic tee with olive green cargo pants.
