Luke came back over a few minutes later, which felt like an eternity, with my mom following behind him. He gave me a thumbs up and smiled at me silently telling me that it went well. Well that was a huge weight lifted off my chest. I introduced my mom to the guys and she started a conversation with them so I grabbed Luke and pulled him out of the room to ask what she talked to him about.
"Danni she wasn't bad at all. She's actually cooler than my mom and that's saying a lot. She just put down some basic rules and that was it. She didn't try and terrify me so don't worry." He said and then wrapped his arms around me and kissed my forehead. I looked up at him and then pushed him away so I could go back in the room to make sure my mom was in check and not interrogating the guys.
Thankfully I walked in to actually see Ashton laughing at something my mom had said. Oh my God. She isn't. She better not be I swear to God if she is. "Mom. Don't you dare!" I said as I ran over and grabbed her wallet from her. She had the most embarrasing pictures of me in her wallet and I'm talking the worst of the worst. "Mom why would you show them these. This is not ok." I said as I kept a tight grip on the wallet not even risking one of the boy's getting it from me.
"Don't worry Danni, we only saw the one where you have food all over your face." Ashton said and burst out laughing once again when the picture came back into his head. I rolled my eyes at him and shot a death look at my mom. I was never going to live this down, especially with these boys. Michael and Calum were also trying to contain their laughter with Bella keeping them quiet with a stern look. "Hey Ms. Albrand, can Danni stay over with us tonight? She promised to teach me how to play FIFA and we have a spare room and everything." Ashton asked my mom once he had calmed down and I looked with hopeful eyes at my mom who looked unsure.
"Mom. I've stayed with them before and they took really good care of me and I swear we won't do anything illegal. The most illegal thing will be Calum getting weird pizza toppings." I said trying to convince her. I put on my signature pouty face from when I was little and she nodded her head finally saying that I could go.
"Just remember Danni, I have to go to a meeting tomorrow so I may not be home when you get home and call me when you can." My mom said with a sigh and got up to hug me. "Alright kids, I'm going to leave, it's getting quite late for me." My mom said and then grabbed her things and walked out the door. As soon as she had left, Luke came up behind me and kissed my cheek and wrapped his arms around my waist. This boy was so cuddly and always wanted to be hugging me.
"You're so adorable Lucas." I said and turned around to face him and I pecked his nose with a small kiss.
"No I think you're the adorable one here." He said in reply and kissed the top of my head due to the height difference.
"Can you guys stop being so cute it's making me sick. Seeing my best friends kiss is gross." Ashton said and made a choking noise and came and swooped me up in his arms and ran out of the room with me gripping around his neck for dear life. I had no idea where he was running to but I heard a pair of footsteps running after us which I assumed was Luke. Ashton stopped us around a corner and told me to keep quiet as Luke ran past a few seconds later. Ashton dropped me down so that I was standing and we both started giggling. "Well he's gonna be gone for a little while." Ashton laughed and he looked down at me. Ashton started leaning down towards me but I pushed his chest back and I looked up at him in horror.
"Ashton what are you doing?" I asked him as he licked his lips and then glanced down at my own. Obviously I wasn't getting through so I slapped his cheek so snap him out of his daydream.
"Woah, uh, sorry but I just really wanted to kiss you and it kind of just, I don't know, I'm sorry that was stupid of me. I'm just gonna go. You might want to go and find Luke," Ashton said nervously and walked away as quickly as possible towards the dressing room. I immediately pulled my phone out as soon as he was gone and I texted Luke and told him where I was. Luke came running towards me a minute later as he bent over as he was panting and trying to catch his breath.
"What happened? You guys like dissapeared?" Luke asked me when he stood back up to his full height and looked down into my eyes. "Danni, what happened. I can see it in your eyes." He said and stepped closer and entangled my hands in his.
"I don't know. One minute. Ashton was running down the hallway with me in his arms and the next thing I know he's leaning down and trying to kiss me." I said very slowly and cautiously because I knew Luke had a temper and he would not be happy with Ashton in the slightest.
Luke's face started to turn red and his grip on my hands tightened for a second. "I am going to fucking kill him." Luke said and went sprinting off down in the direction of where Ashton had gone. At this point, I was fearing for Ashton's life. I ran to the dressing room and explained as quickly as I could that Luke was about to kill Ashton and Calum and Michael jumped up and went two different directions searching for the two boys. Bella came over to me and she noticed my heavy breathing.
"Danni are you ok?" She asked me and I shook my head no. I was currently having a panic attack. I've had a few in my life and I knew that I just had to calm myself and get my breathing back to normal before I just got worse. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes and I put my head between my knees so that I could get more oxygen into my lungs and hopefully calm myself down. I heard Calum yelling from somewhere close through the door and that just made my panic attack get even worse. "Danni breathe. Deep breaths in and out. Just try and calm down. Block them out." Bella said as she rubbed my back trying to comfort me.
"I-i-i-i-i think I-i-i'm ok now." I said as I tried to speak through the sobs that were making me shake. My body had stopped shaking and I had finally kind of got my breathing to normal. "I just want Luke." I said to Bella and she nodded and she pulled out her phone and sent a quick text, to Luke or Calum I don't know.
"He's coming right now." Bella said and helped me wipe away the mascara that had gone down my cheeks from me crying. I just kept my head in between my legs to keep my breathing normal. I felt a pair of arms lift me and and I wrapped my legs around Luke's waist and I draped my arms around his neck. He held me up and whispered in my ear asking if I was ok. I told him that I just wanted to go home. I buried my face into his neck and I started to cry again. Luke comforted me and he told Bella that he was going to take the car and he had called another car to come and get the rest of them. "Yeah Luke, I'll tell the others."
"Let's go home," Luke whispered into my ear and I nodded into him. He carried me out of the building and he got into the car with me sitting in his lap. "Are you ok Princess?" Luke asked me as he brushed a strand of hair out of my face and tilted my chin so I was looking up at him.
"Yeah. Sorry. That happens sometimes." I said to him and played with the hem of his shirt absentmindedly as I refused to meet his gaze again.
"Yeah, I know Danni. Remember when you were talking to "Melody" that one time and you started to have a panic attack and she helped you through it?" He asked me and I nodded in response. I remembered the day perfectly. People at school had been making fun of me and I came home and had a panic attack, the worst one I've ever had. "Well, that was me that helped you through it actually." Luke confessed and my eyes widened at his words. "Melody" had talked to me and calmed me down for over two hours.
"Wow. I would have never, I just, I can't believe that it was you. You talked to me for more than two hours Luke. That's like, a lot of songs that you could have been listening to instead of helping me who was an absolute wreck."
"Why wouldn't I. I care about you too much Danni."
Wow. He cared so much. And he still does.
