PoV: Hange

Not even flinching, I Just turned my head and already heard the yells filling my ears.

"There's something weird with this Titan!"
"Floch!!"

Smoke was surrounding the Titans body and I couldn't help but try to figure out what it could possibly mean.
As I was trying to follow my thoughts, Floch interrupted it with speaking up.

"Is it disappearing..? Did it die?" He asked with his jaw dropped and I furrowed my eye brows a little further.
"No," I began to respond." Normally... when steam gets absorbed like, it won't disappear.." I explained just as confused and felt my hand subconsciously grip onto Levi's rest clothes as for making sure he was still here and not taken away from me.

The people around me raised their guns towards the Titan, but not even five seconds later, a man was crawling out of the steam.
Zeke.

Realizing this was my perfect moment to escape because everyone was focused on Zeke, I shot a gaze around my surroundings and found a river, fixating on it.
It wouldn't even take me 10 seconds to be there and dive down with Levi. I could do it.
Closing my eyes for a short moment, I quickly let myself slide into the water with Levi still in my arms, ignoring the shouts following when they noticed I was escaping.

"Ah?!"
"Go after them!"
"You're not going anywhere!"

Pounding hooves were noticeable, as well as gun shots into the water, which did make me uneasy, but my determination activated like flames inside of me until the noises got less.

As I was sure we were safe, I dived up and laid Levi down on the lakeside, checking on his pulse.
I already expected the worst, but a choked laugh came out of me when I felt a weak throb coming from his pulse artery against my fingers around his wrist.
He lost so much blood. I couldn't even understand how he was still alive.
Suddenly hearing a noise, I grabbed after my shotgun and shot out of pure reflex. Hearing cracking of wood like something big fell, I gulped heavily and walked up closer.

You got this Hange, nothing will go wrong.

Looking down, I opened my mouth a bit out of concern and shock, but simply focused on my surroundings again.

One of Floch's men, huh? They'll be easy targets... I hope.

Carrying the dead body into the open, I waited until a second person suddenly appeared and jumped down from their horse.

"Hey! What happened, Oliver?!" They shouted but my gun was faster.

Swallowing down my last bit of fear, I turned around again and went back to Levi, letting out a shaky breath before taking him with me deeper into the forest. I ended up rushing myself until a clearing appeared in my sight.
We should be safe here for some time at least.

As he was down on softer ground, I began wrapping the cloth, which I put on his face before, off carefully while speaking to him as if he could hear me.

"The pursuers are all gone, Levi.."
