PoV: Hange
Of course it was his objective. What else were to be expected at this point.
A sigh escaped my lungs as I turned my head to look at Levi again, his expression still as beaten as before."You know you can't fight like this, right?" I heard myself say, almost sounding desperate while doing so. I didn't want to force him to stay here with me, but I also didn't want to have him risk his life any longer.
"I know, but.." He cleared his throat, also coughing right after, before he continued.
"I made a promise to kill him." Levi finished and closed his eyes- more like eye- again.
"And you don't think the person you made this promise to wants you to get back with stabilized health first?" I kept asking questions even though he already indirectly said no. I should have stopped already moments ago."I don't know. He's dead," Levi responded dryly, sighing quietly.
Well this was awkward.
"...Just like everyone else except for maybe two people." He added on, opening his eye to look at his hand.
I shook my head, standing up and starting to pace around."Look, Levi, I'm not trying to force you to stay, but you won't be any help like this." I just let my mind talk, not really holding back any longer. He would probably hate me after this or something, but I was his way out, so.
"You lost half of your eye sight and also lost two fingers. Let alone the fact how beaten your whole body is anyway." I stopped my walking to catch a glimpse of him. He had looked away by now and up to the sky."Alright." He said after a moment of silence, breaking it with his words.
"Alright?" I raised my eyebrows in surprise, titling my head slightly as I wasn't fully sure if I just imagined it or if it was reality.
"Alright. We'll stay here, but we'll go back as soon as I'm back to health." Levi glanced at me, apparently accepting his defeat as a weak and only very small smile graced his lips.Of course there was a but. What else should I have expected?
"Deal." I accepted and smiled at him as hopeful as I could before sitting down on the grass next to him.
"Good." He said quietly before looking up to the sky again like already before.Lying down onto my back, I spoke up again. This time rather quietly and less energetic.
"You should get some sleep, it'll make you feel better."
He looked back at me, seemingly examining my face for a few seconds before shaking his head.
"You don't have to sleep on the wet grass, Hange. You'd only get sick." Levi responded just as quiet before moving a little to the side.
He seemed serious about it, yet again I couldn't help but feel bad. It was like this was the only emotion I had inside of my mind since days now."I don't want to invalidate your personal space." I muttered back, scratching my neck a little awkwardly before Levi sighed in annoyance and stared at me.
"I just said it's okay, shitty glasses, so get over here." The black-haired one rolled his eyes, visibly growing impatient the more seconds I wasted.
"Fine, but don't complain if you-," I started again but got interrupted.
"Just get here now before I change my mind."In a short movements I went from the grass onto the blanket he was on, still as close to the edge as possible.
He sighed again but left it how it was, eventually closing his eyes again.
"Good night, Hange."I put my glasses away next to me, closing my eyes as well.
"Sleep well, Levi."
