PoV: Hange
Timeskip: About 5 days later"So? What do you think?" I put my hands on my hips as I looked at my undone creation, aka the walls of a cabin in an area of about 110 to 120 square feet I somehow managed to get done. Chopped wood lying around the whole area which didn't fully fit into the picture. I also didn't really sleep whilst building this, therefore my mental state was questionable.
More than usually."It lacks a roof." Levi complained and huffed, sitting leaned against a tree further away as he was still not able to walk by himself or in general move a lot.
"I'm aware, bozo, I was just asking if the walls looked straight to you." I rolled my eyes, opening my arms in form of a 'tadaa' in front of the object.
"You didn't exactly ask that. And yeah, I guess." The black haired one shook his head as he studied my beautiful, wooden construction. "Just don't overwork yourself again."
"Pffff- me and overworking myself." I waved it off, taking the axe Levi taught me how to build to start getting the wood around in the right shapes and lengths for the roof as requested.
"Never." I gave back right before hitting it down on one of the tree trunks."You're stupid. If you do it that inaccurately without marking where to hit the axe in, it'll be completely uneven!" He kept complaining and clicked his tongue in visible- or acted- annoyance, causing me to roll my eyes repeatedly and just keep going.
"Do it better then, 'Captain'!" I shouted as a response to mock him, chuckling a small bit as I carried on.
"I would if I could. But you're not letting me. Also the stinky fish we ate yesterday didn't come me well." Levi ranted, holding his stomach as I turned my head to look at his expression, frowning with a smirk on my lips.
It was odd he was that talkative, well not necessarily, just the fact that didn't seem too serious once in a while.
"Then throw it up and eat poisonous berries or something." Without a second thought, I focused back on my work, wanting to be done with this as quickly as possible since the sky looked like it would rain again sooner or later. Without a roof and an only half way done cabin, that wouldn't be really practical.
"I might actually do that!" I heard Levi reply, a few inaudible cusses following by like always when he attempted to get up and fell on his face or anything unable to sit back up.
It was quite entertaining, I must say."Don't do it." I shook my head, not even having turned around fully repeatedly when I already heard a yelp.
"Hange-," he just said, lying on the ground with one hand weakly used for support so his head couldn't hit the dirt below.
"I told you not to." I sighed and walked over to him, dropping the axe on the way before kneeling down next to the smaller one, carefully taking him by his armpits and leaning the other back against the tree like previously.
"..." He just looked away, his visible eye focused on the ground in front of him, crossing his arms which made him look like an angry teenager.
"You'll be able to walk and stand up by yourself soon enough, don't worry about it." I smiled reassuringly, patting his shoulder carefully and getting up again afterwards. "I'm sure of that."
Finally done ignoring me, his vision found mine, resulting in a silence as we just kind of stared at each other until it grew almost uncomfortable, trying not to get lost in it again. Shaking my head, I picked my tool back up and returned to my spot in hitting the wood in fitting parts.
Once nightfall appeared again and the stars were visible on the sky, I put everything down, my muscles hurting just like the growing headache which I had gotten over the past days. Probably as some kind of punishment for not properly sleeping. How did Levi survive it over years?
By now, I was done with about half of the needed wooden planks and had them stacked above one another behind the walls. I worked my ass off trying to make it as perfect as possible, but I somehow still wasn't satisfied with my achievements. Maybe if I could have worked quicker..
"Oi, Four eyes. Come 'ere. You need sleep too." Levi snapped me out of it with calling me over, already lying on the spot with the blankets over which I got a small tent in case of rain. It wasn't a lot, but a good short-living alternative.
"Yeah yeah, on my way." I went to the other, dropping myself on the ground next to him, almost right away putting an arm around him out of reflex. It's been that way the past days, so I didn't see why it would change. It wasn't like Levi complained about that part either.
"You're overworking yourself." He began scolding me again like last night, flicking my forehead so he was assured I would be listening.
"Ow," I held my hand on the spot he flicked. "No I'm not, I already said that yesterday." The first part of that sentence was, indeed, a bad lie. I didn't even have the physical power to keep working at the same pace any longer. Levi was right.
"Lies. You'll rest and sleep as long as you can without contradictions of yours." I felt him playing with a couple strands of my hair whilst he was talking, one of the few things he could apparently do already again.
"Fine." I sighed, giving in and closing my eyes. Tiredness overcoming me a couple of seconds later.
"Good, I also..-" He kept ranting about me not taking breaks, but I already didn't hear that any longer as i was dozing off to sleep.
