Jax was roused by the deep buzzing in his skull that indicated a video call, he answered with a tap to his temple before opening his eyes, stretching one elbow above his head as one lid slid open to see the screen.

"Oh my god Jax, put a damn shirt on, no one needs to see so much of you first thing in the morning!"

It was Brooke's voice and he focused on the images on his screen, seeing Addy was there too, expression blank but Brooke was half covering her face in faux embarrassment, teasing his half naked state. They both seemed to still be dressed for bed as well, which seemed reasonable given the early hour. Instead of reacting with chagrin however, he increased the stretch, using his eyes to zoom the camera further out, bringing his pecs into view as he laced his fingers behind his head and bunched his muscles. Giving the blushing woman a more full demonstration of his built body. The frustrated sigh from Brooke making him laugh. He pulled the camera tight on his face as he got up to dress.

"What brings two lovely ladies to my bedroom so early in the morning." He teased as a shirt passed over his head, not letting him see Brooke roll her eyes but he could hear it in her exaggerated groan. He liked Brooke, she was witty and confident but mostly she was loved by Addy so by extension she was loved by him. They would have continued that way, exchanging insults and teasings if Addy hadn't cleared her throat calling whatever this was to order.

"I'm leaving Darren."

Jax had to quickly mute the audio as a shrill shrieking from Brooke rattled his brain. He could see her excitement, a bouncing energy that transferred from the screen with ease. He wasn't really watching her though, his eyes were on Addy who looked focused and determined. She was trying to wait Brooke out, but Jax needed more. There was a reason all of them were on the call.

"What do you need from us Ad's?" He asked, unmuting the audio and cutting across the still gushing Brooke.

"Well, I was hoping you could both come help me pack? I need to be out before he gets home tonight. I don't know if I can wait one more day and not change my mind." She hesitated, chewing her cheek, insecurity plain on her face. "Actually Jax, maybe I shouldn't have called you this isn't your problem..." Brooke cut across her, before the lines of uncertainty could progress.

"What do you mean? Of course you should have called him! He wants you and Gemma safe and happy, right Jax?"

Brooke looked to him from across the screen and while he could have answered for himself, Jax realized through her expression that Brooke was aligning herself, they would have to act as a team. Putting Addy at ease together, and Jax was grateful for the alliance, securing his place in this shaky situation.

"Addy, I told you I wanted to be here for you, seems like you believed me before you called. Don't go doubting it now. I'll be there in just a few minutes."

"Me too!" Brooke chimed and hung up leaving Addy and Jax staring at each other, the distance between them never closer yet still somehow feeling like an insurmountable difference. Jax opened his mouth to speak, ask her if she was ok when she cut off the video call. Leaving him alone.
