Ultimately it had been Brooke who cast the final vote, breaking the tie between Gemma's parents. Addy had wanted to spend the evening unpacking and settling into her new home, even if she did agree that she didn't feel safe alone. Darren had her ID chip data and would know where she was, and it was beyond her capability to take the information back. She didn't really want to deal with the pounding at the door on her own, but surely she and Brooke could have handled that since Jax was flatout refusing to spend the night in the one room apartment with her.
If she had insisted, which she had every intention on doing, he was going to post up at a table downstairs in the bar, let Billy hack the nearby camera's and watch her alley all night long. Ready to intercept and deter. The stubborn in Addy had decided that was fine, let him spend his time watching for Darren if he would rather do that then be with her. She was still frustrated with him, he could use as much logic as he would like, the truth was she was sick to death of rejection. Was something actually wrong with her? Did she have some sort of addiction or something? She didn't want to scratch the itch with just anyone though so she felt that wasn't the case.
She hadn't even wanted sex, not really, she had wanted to feel...safe? Assured? Whole? The more she looked at it, the more complicated it was. So much of her ego seemed to be wrapped up in her ability to be desired, without it ever being her main priority. It wasn't important, not even an afterthought until it was, then it was all consuming. Shifting her personality to this feral woman whose domination fought against an equally strong submission that was ultimately determined by the sexual personality of her partner. If he was the powerful sort, demanding control over her body, she appeased. The latter was a man requiring direction, indicated by delicate uncertainty, so she commanded.
This was where the compatibility with Jax ultimately lay, the lead passed between them easily, each knowing their role without qualm or reluctance. Both taking control and being controlled moment to moment. Switching back and forth easily, and it had been that way from the beginning, a gentle and brutal give and take. That is what she wanted, to be accepted, simply and purely understood.
It was this dissatisfaction that kept her arguing with him, he wanted to take her somewhere safe, and she just didn't want to agree with him purely to spread the pent up anxiety she was feeling around. So Brooke stepped in, siding with Jax and earning a pure, hot glare from Addy. That was how Addy found herself, with all the mobile trappings of a travelling parent, outside the home of the Quartermaster, waiting with Brooke and Gemma to be allowed entrance.
Jax scanned his ID chip but the door remained locked, he sighed, silently pleading with the sky before he started speaking to the camera mounted above the door.
"What? Are you gonna demand a password or something? Come on Dade, I have a baby out here, don't make me regret letting you know we were coming."
Addy heard a snicker come out of the speakers, a projection of her boss playing on the door. He was grinning impishly, clearly enjoying himself, and Addy set down her burden of foldable crib, knowing this wouldn't be quick. These two loved to push each other's buttons.
"Jax, you come to my home with not one but three women and expect me to just let you all in without so much as a question?"
Addy saw Jax roll his eyes, but instead of continuing to argue he sighed deciding to play along.
